Hi All,

I've been lurking here for quite a while now and been dreaming and dreaming. Finally got my money together and bought a '97 Ford E-150 conversion van last week. I lucked out and found one with only 79K miles on it. My plan now is to use it for extended travel trips while camping in it. My first order of business is to get a 12V system put together to run a Fantastic Vent and to have power for my CPAP and laptop. After I have finished my bed anyway. Going to start out simple and cheap and add as I decide what I really need.

Thanks for having this great forum, expect to see many question from me. Maybe I'll have a few answers too.

Guy

Welcome and Greetings neighbor!

Greetings! Great to have you here!

I'm using the full featured Fantastic vent in my van. The remote control is mounted next to the bed. The best part is the automatic rain sensor. It works perfectly and is by far (in my humble opinon) the most valuable feature.

Depending on your CPAP manfuacturer (I'm using a Respironics), you can get a 12V adapter cord that plugs into you car battery (or house battery). Without the heater running, expect an amp or so of current draw.

I've got some info about both on my blog (you can do a search there, too).

Great to have you aboard!

V.T.

Thanks for the welcomes. I did luck out on finding a van with such low miles, it's in great shape and I'm loving it more every time I drive it.

Hi VanTrekker,
My CPAP is a Respironics and I have the 12V cord, first thing I bought when I had to start using it. I've been taking it tent camping with one of those jump start batteries, but want something a little better in the van. Plus I need the power for a few other goodies.

Thanks again, Guy
