 :shy: Hello everyone!! I'm Sylvia and new to the site! I'm getting ready to buy a vintage camper to redo and head west. I've been to every state but as a teenager. I'm want to see it as an adult and appreciate it more and have pics this time! Lol. I want to use solar obviously bc I'm sure I'll be in a lot of rural areas. I saw the 100 Watt one in Harbor Freight and was considering that one until someone said something about its for things like cell phones, computer, small things like that, but not the frig. How many watts do I need for the frig too? I cook outside. If I bought 2 can I hook them together or do I sound to much like I don't know what I'm talking about and need to research more. Lol. Thanks for having me here!!!!

Welcome Sylvia to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. I would hold off on the solar until you read here some and ask some questions. Harbor Freight is not considered the best for your money. highdesertranger

Hi. I grew up in Nazareth PA, in the Lehigh Valley, moved to Florida about 20 years ago, and now fulltime in a van.

Hello Swtpea1003 and welcome.

Be sure and check out the store link here for solar systems.  A lot of people are using the Renegy system that I know and they are having good luck with them.  I might recommend that you contact them directly and ask them how many watts you need.  They will walk you through what you need based on what you are planning on using.  There is also a thread on the forum that has info on solar usage.

Best to you,
Dennis

I love Nazareth! I was there yesterday! I too made it a whole 4 years in FL. Ha ha.  Too freaking hot! But it was Orlando area. Maybe if I was at the beach it would have been a little better. I just had knee surgery and my lease isn't up until March 12th. Ugh. But when it is I'm high tailing it outta PA! Ill b coming to FL for a nice short tho vacation at the beach. Then off to the southern route of the US. I want to spend the summer in and around Utah and those states to visit the national parks. I loved Bryce Canyon.

When I tell people I was born in Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth, they look at me funny.  ;)
