Hey van people! &nbsp; My name is Roniit and I'm in the planning stages of my van. &nbsp;I don't plan on living in the van forever, but just for 3-6 months out of the year every year because I'm a touring musician. &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>My boyfriend and I are embarking on a 3 month full US tour in January as we are both musicians and have solo projects we want to take out on the road. &nbsp; We need something reliable and something warm! &nbsp;I have my eye set on a 15 passenger van (for insulation and space) and I'm planning on sectioning off a good 3 feet in the back for cargo (for our instruments and other gear). &nbsp;I'm not at all into building things, but I'm pretty darn good at following instructions and putting together furniture, so perhaps I'll try some wood work. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>My requirements for our van so far are as follows: a full size bed (will a bed fit sideways in a passenger van??), a small sink type thing, storage galore, and a tiny desk for my mini recording studio. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>I really like this simple idea, but with prettier stuff <img src="/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"></div><div></div><div><br></div><div>this is wonderful:</div><div><br></div><div></div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, I've said enough, nice to meet everyone and all suggestions are welcome! &nbsp;</div>

Hello and welcome! I am also new to this thread but have found it useful and everyone here is very nice!<div><br></div><div>Little off topic-It's cool you two are traveling musicians. I am an audio engineer. My soon to be ex-wife and I own a music venue/bar in SLC, so if your planning on stopping through there I can get you her contact info, as I have relocated to LA.</div><div><br></div><div>Beds can fit sideways in a van, it just depends on the van and the height of the occupants.</div><div><br></div><div>A 15 pass van is always coice for musicians on the road. One vehicle you might want to look into is a shuttle bus. I've seen some bands come through our venue that had them and I was pretty jelous. Some that are from hotels have a seperate section in the back for luggage that can be used for backline and other equipment. Then bed or beds in the middle and then a lounge in front of that right behind the two front seats, or a studio in your case.</div>

Hi!<div>Yes, SLC is on the list - 3/12/12. &nbsp;I'd love to get her info, that would be awesome! Thank you. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>I've read that most cargo vans are about 5 feet wide, but most beds are about 6 feet wide. &nbsp;True? &nbsp;Do people just buy shorter beds or what?</div><div><br></div><div>The 15 passenger van would be amazing, but unfortunately we don't have that much money, and the van would get much better gas mileage. &nbsp; But I'm definitely trying to find the longest cargo van I can!</div>
