Hey everyone, now that I officially own a van I figured I would formally introduce myself and show off my new home.  My name is Dave and the van is a '96 Astro.  I'm in Phoenix, and I'll be coming down to the RTR on Monday and I'm planning on staying through Saturday.  I look forward to meeting everyone there!  I'm hoping to spend my summers workamping in the van (hopefully I can land a job at the big tent show) and then spend the winters work trading abroad in some more tropical climates.  I quit my semi well paying, but ultimately dead end job in January last year and spent the next 6 months work trading on a couple of farms in Hawaii.  I had a blast and I met a few people who were living in there vans down there and ever since I've been hooked on the idea.  Before I get to the pics, I just want to say thank you to Bob for creating this amazing resource and for sharing all of your knowledge both here and on youtube.  Also a big thank you to all of the moderators and members of this site for sharing all of their knowledge and experiences as well.  Alright, enough nonsense.  Here's the van:

'96 Astro van with 66,000 original miles.  I couldn't believe the mileage, but carfax confirmed it and the mechanic that checked it out said that he believed that number too.  It was owned by the state of California for the first 17 years and I'm it's 4th owner.  The guy I bought it from had super detailed records of all work performed and it seems like he treated it very well based on it's condition.

Here are some pics after I removed the rear seats a few of the rear panels:  This van is so gorgeous underneath!  All of that brown was just dust.

Cant wait to see what you do with the van.

Wow, very clean! I live where salt eats cars so it is really amazing to see something of this age without rust spots. Seems like you have a really great starting point here!
