Hey there cheap RV living team
I'm Handsome(or so my mother tells me) and i live and study withing a mrk7 ford transit in New Zealand.
By education and by trade i am an electrician (currently studying towards working on cruise ships, but mostly vehicles before that - we call it an auto sparky here in NZ) and I really want to pass on my knowledge to people who are in a situation like mine.
My story begins when i dropped out of high school and managed to get an apprenticeship as an auto electrician. After 3 years of learning, fixing, failing and living on $2 rammen I became a journeyman and decided to do exactly that -TRAVEL!! I flew 13000km(I'm sorry we use the metric system here but uncle google has all the answers) to California(San Fran) and rented a car. While doing my hobby of downhill skateboarding i took in the awesomeness of america from three separate states(California,Nevada and Arizona). I then thought that I wanted to become an electrical engineer when i got back to New Zealand but after 2 years of being drowned in the corporate lifestyle of university, i dropped out(again, one could say I'm a professional) and went back to my roots. After half a year of working on heavy diesel trucks installing radio telephones and working as an electronics technician, my feet began to itch - so i booked a flight for Germany and explored Europe(I even found the girl of my dreams). Now I am at the final tertiary course , upskilling and learning about high voltage and marine electrical systems to get an ETO role.
My house(what are they??) is a 2007 Ford Transit that i converted for about $1000(thats in NZ dollars) with the help of my stepdad and old boss(free inverter and mark up free electrical parts). I have been stealth camping for about two months and have met one other guy in a van here in Auckland but thats it - the van can provide everything apart from a community.
So here I am at cheap rv living forums looking to talk, teach and get to know some awesome vehicle dwelling nomadic people
