Hello All,

Just a quick note to say "hi!"
My name is Steve, and I currently reside in Solvang, CA.
I'm a retired Jack of all trades, master of some, and attended the 2020 RTR.
I recently purchased my first van (traded in my pickup truck and got a great price for it, because of the virus), and named her the Space Beagle. (after an old Sci Fi book by A.E. Van Vogt.)
Had lots of fun last year, and would have returned this year, except for the Covid, of course.
I will definitely be ready for next year's RTR, after making the rounds to a few places and people before then.
Finally, I would love to hookup with some musicians and play at the "talent show", next year.  I play drums, guitar, harmonica and the fool (stole this joke from John Lennon).

Anyway, take care all; and as we bikers say, keep the rubber side down!

Welcome sarakawa to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the CRVL Forum  :)

There are a couple of links below in the signature line that may add to your Nomad experience.

The first for fixing up a rig focused mainly on Van's,  and the second is a portal of useful info to make
life on the road more safe, comfortable, and convenient.

Alll the best !

Welcome, and sounds like you've really got a jump-start mixing with folks, sounds wonderful!  I'm pretty new here, learning lots.  I think about trading my little truck for a Van one day, and of course saving all I can til then.  I want to attend the RTR as well, and hope it all works out for all of us this year !!

Steve there was a music camp section of the rtr that was well attended before the rtr could no longer camp together. Those folks are still camping together here and there although I’m not sure how to find them.

Hello!

Thank you for your friendly reply and advice.
I'm sure I will have much to add to the community and even though I missed the virtual meet, a few months back, I already feel accepted and appreciated.
Look forward to meeting you sometime soon!

Peace!

Steve

G0ldengirl68,
Thanks for your reply.  I found that trading a truck in at this time was advantageous (I got more value for my trade).  The dealer was happy to get my truck, because they are in short supply (bigtime).  They are not cranking a lot out and there is also a semiconductor shortage.  I was told that all dealers are backlogged at least 6 months, if not more, so used vehicles are really in demand.  That puts you in a good position (for a change).  Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.

Best Wishes!
Steve

Cammalu,

Thank you for the "heads-up", on the music.  I'm sure something will "gel", eventually!

Best Wishes!
