Years ago I posted in this forum and introduced myself. At the time I was disgusted with the cost of housing in Boulder, and thinking of an RV or van. At the time, I was happy to find this forum and also the vandwellers forum on Yahoo.

As the years have gone by, I still dream of fixing up a van and living in it. I want to be a snowbird, so that I'm not stuck inside during the winter. Although Colorado winters may seem mild to some, they really cramp my style. I love to be outside, cycling, hiking, just soaking in the beauty.

The idea of converting a van is overwhelming to me, but someday I want chance it. Correction: I will do it. I've got this fantasy of fixing up a Sprinter (which doesn't make much sense, as I swore I'd never again own a European car after a bad experience with a VW Pissant, as I call it). I want to tap the brains of vandwellers and get best ideas. There are dilemmas that present themselves - how to have stealth and have a bike - and me wanting to get a mountain bike in addition to a road bike. Go figure.

I love what Bob wrote about the 2,000,000 man. My 2,000,000 woman is screaming inside me as I sit in traffic (presently I'm commuting 90 miles to work and back, staying at my mom's house). I have to go now but I look forward to visiting this forum again.

Glad to be back,
Karin
