Welcome Shift Chick. Not to be a nick picker. But....RTR will be January 11th-21st. 2018. I live in sw Ga. I'll be going to RTR and make a "drug run" across the border. (health Ins. ends for me, got to get my script's year supply).

I couldn't figure out what a vamp spot was.  I looked online and saw this definition:  Vamp (woman), a seductress or femme fatale; derived from "vampire"

Oh and then it hit me that v and c are pretty close on the keyboard and we WERE talking camping spots.  I'm slow and LOL my head off.

Will pass some along.  Many free ones.  What part of FL are you in?  S, Central, N, NE, NW, SW, SE?

Been over in the Suwanne area a bit.. she floods sometimes.. good times though..

I'm in and around Tampa Bay ish..thinking further south as temps get cooler .. however am always ready to consider an adventure...

Oh, I'm not all that far from you, closer to Orlando.  Try Deep Creek Preserve in Arcadia, FL.  Or if you have $3, I think it's that much, you can go to
Babcock-Webb Wildlife Management Area.  That's in Punta Gorda.  Also there's free camping at the Seminole Casino in Immokalee.  All three are going to be fairly close to you, although not on your doorstep.

Tarpon Springs is a nice little town. I used to visit the aquarium there pretty regularly back when I lived in St Pete.

Oh yes!  Tarpon Springs is awesome.  How could I have omitted that one?

Just love FL for fall/winter camping.  And the nice thing is, if you are coastal, there are public beaches with FREE SHOWERS.    

Today I went to Clearwater and went on a boat ride tour thingy.  It was a perfect day.  Just awesome for hanging out in the bay.  And no traffic to get back home.  I took 60 all the way, something I wouldn't do except on a Sunday.  It was enjoyable.  I'll never forget today.

Just an FYI...
I'm seeing someone post get your DNA done... WE chose to disconnect from the system.. guess what... Paying someone money to give away your source codes ( DNA)
... The cost on too of that... These are promotions thus someone is getting paid..
Can't fault one for trying to make a buck.. but .. you can do your own search on line...

Colorado River is very close to Quartzsite... A few of the RTR tribe is between Havasu and Yuma as we speak/type/converse....
