Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving where ever you are. It's been a crazy few months in this country with all the election junk in the news. I think it sometimes overshadow just how fortunate we are to be able to live in this great country of ours. I try and stop and remind myself of it from time to time when I notice a lot of the little things that bother me start to add up, I'll do a mental reset so to speak.
I haven't been very active on here as of late because i've been in a mad scramble to get my house finished before winter sets in. Bought a house in Maine and gutted it to the studs shortly before getting sick. There it sat the next four years, until I decided to start the remodel the last week of August this year. I knew it was ambitious and that I'd be fighting time and weather in the not so distant future. It started off real smooth, then hit some bumps and at the last minute she all came together......furnace, insulation and drywall all installed with in 3 days of each other. First night it dipped below 30 was the first night the furnace was hooked up and working. Little paint, flooring, and cabinets and I will have a completed house. Then on to the fun stuff, shopping for my adventure rig. Life is good : )
I then went out to eat to celebrate my good fortune at a small local bar. A nice older gentleman sitting next to me, upon hearing I was new in town, picked up my entire tab! This morning I decided to pay it forward and I left the coffee girl a $10 tip because she was stuck working on a Holiday. Pull in to get gas and let the dog do his business on my way back to Mass to spend it with family and I find a $20 dollar bill in a pile of leaves my dog is peeing on!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
