Happy New Year to all present and future NOMADS.  May your fuel bill be low and your tires take you where you want to be.

A special thanks to all the people who manage the forum on a daily basis.

To Bob, thanks and best wishes!

sreesekelley, Happy New Year to you too. May we all have clear sky's and fair sailing in 2021.

2021 will not have a hard act to follow, for sure!

Happy New Years everyone.

Happy New Year. All we got out here in the sticks was gunshots. Typical Happy Camp. I wish they wouldn't do that.

Anyhow, Happy New Year... may your travels be bright, joyful and plenteous.

Happy New Year to all. I'm just sitting here drinking coffee and watching the snow fall. I'm glad to see 2020 in the rear view mirror.

I used to like sitting inside the house looking out the window at the snow while I was drinking my coffee. Coffee was a double blessing a good drink and something to warm my hands with. Then I moved to Florida and it is much better to sit outside the house with the fresh Gulf breeze blowing in your face sipping a cup of iced coffee. Trust me it is so much better to watch the waves break on “Snow” White sand than to do anything in the snow. God bless the nomads and give each one A happy and safe new year.

Of course, you probably enjoy not paying state income tax.   :D  This is the third year I will pay $0 in state income tax, even though the state does tax income.  I keep thinking of making Nevada my official state of residence to be closer to California and Oregon but I can't justify it on the basis of state income tax.  I've never been to Florida even though a friend in Tallahassee keeps urging me to move there.  What are the cons to living in Florida?  (Owning underwater property in ten years? :p )

My official state of residence is Pennsylvania, the land of taxes. But if there’s one good thing about poverty is they let you alone when it comes to that kind of tax.

Worst things about living in Florida: low pay in the trades, strange and awful bugs, alligators and snakes, and when it gets hot, the humidity is horrid.

We were there for 7 months. It's our legal domicile. There are awesome things about Florida, too! Kinda like every other state I've had the privilege to get to know. =)

Oh yes I plan to leave Florida before it gets bad. I’d like to see a lot of the spring wildflowers before I go. But I don’t want the heat, humidity and hurricanes as part of my experience. In the summer there’s wonderful things to see in the northern United States. PA can be hot and very humid. The best thing about Florida is the air ocean or gulf air coming in and no huge industries to make the sky dark. So it makes the air much more invigorating.

Yep.  :D

Only been to Florida once in November. It was warm, very overcast and sort of gothic. It was Orlando/Winter Park. I had had no interest in Florida after growing up in So Cal (was there for a job fair) and turned out I loved it. Nicest people. It was so clean and new looking and pretty.
Great food and coffee too.

Not to be gross or too much information but I’m terrified of bugs and I was using the facilities at about midnight wearing only a thin see-through nightie and this giant bug(?) walked slowly into the bathroom making eye contact the whole time. Even turned its head to look at me. I flew down the stairs (didn’t wait for the elevator) half naked screaming and the guy says oh it’s nothing we call them June bugs.
Good lord no. Last couple of years we’re inundated with lizards and zero bugs. No way could I live in a place where the bugs are big enough to stare me down.
