after about a year of searching and wanting to spend as little as possible we stumbled onto a reposed camper, looked at it then put an offer on it totally expecting to have our offer tossed in file 13.
but we went yesterday and picked it up!

it has plenty of things needing fixed or replaced but we are so happy!

it is a holiday rambler and 40 ft long has a two solar panels on the roof
we are very happy as now we are that much closer to going full time!

if that's a 40 footer lots of tires on it---

No tag axle, got dualies, so I count 6 tires. We put on 6 The day before we left for the summer for around $1200. Old ones looked new, but date codes put them at 11 years old. No way I was going to trust those.

I can hardly wait to start figuring everything out, I did get the slide to work, it was a wire had come loose and I fixed that and the slide now moves in and out.
so much to learn and I feel very positive that I can learn all the systems and how to keep them operational

yea that sums it up pretty darned good!

Congratulations and enjoy your new adventure.

Congrats on the new camper! I can't wait to see how it looks while you are customized it to fit your needs.

I am slowly learning what is what and how things are supposed to work, I had to make a shore line and get the correct plugs and all of that, I went with a 30 ft 50a cord, got it plugged in.
drained all the water and blew out the lines, it had frozen and one of the water filter housings cracked at the top. I patched that long enough to pump in the pink antifreeze I suppose in the spring I will find more things to fix on the water lines.
I got the propane furnace to work and found out that it has another one, but I do not know if it works or not yet.
I took a few pictures tonight if anyone is interested.
I have stuff to do to make it what we want but it sure seems a very big open space and solid starting point for sure!
I was going to do a bus conversion and was saving up parts to do that but this puts me way ahead by having so much already to our liking!

Looks good.I have had the idea of selling my place here in Pensacola but the market has a hole in the bottom around this area for "handyman special"types of real estate. The idea of taking a motor home as trade has occurred to me and yours makes that idea look better to me right now. Happy trails and good times are my wishes for you and yours. Everybody else too while I'm at it.

I would Never call my Bounder Motorhome :"a Camper" my Camper is my 13 ft Casita I tow behind my Van.

LOL!

Seeing the title of this thread, I opened it expecting to see a big pickup truck with a slide in camper, maybe a big Lance or Capri.
WHOA!
What you've got there is a certified "motor home!" More like a mobile mansion!

Congrats!!

At this rate you are soon going to be a certified RV Technician!

Thats quite a unit gas or diesel? usually these have low miles. But like a house require constant attention. I have a HR TT good quality, I wish you the best of times on the road.
