Good Morning. I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Liv. I have travelled extensively since my darling husband died and that has been a few years, now. No family. I still have our home but have made the decision to sell and begin RVing full-time. I am trying to decide whether to purchase a Class B or Class C RV. I like the maneuverability and gas mileage a Class B offers but am inclined to a roomier Class C. A big consideration would be which would require less fuss should something go wrong. (I am not mechanically-inclined.) I think I'll try to find an RV Show or two and ask a lot of questions. Maybe find a good deal while I'm at it. I suppose it is time for a new adventure. I'm looking forward to it.  Cheers.

Enjoy!!! I have found being free in this way life changing when I can. Still working but prepping for the fulltime road life.
Plan, improve and always stop and take in what life gives you.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Liv! Going to an RV show is a good idea. Besides getting answers to your questions you'll also be able to go through the motions of daily living to make sure you'll be comfortable with your choice. Class Bs have less of a chance of leaking which can cause a large amount of damage to Class Cs. They also have a better resale value. But they are much more crowded. Good luck with your search!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

There is an in-between option called B+.

A bit smaller up front, (less overhang than a C) a bit more room (than a B) toward the coach area.

For some people, it's the 'Goldilocks' answer. Just right.

Hmm.....maybe I should have said, 'Golden' answer?

Anyway, welcome!

:)

Welcome, Liv! If I downsized from my Travel Trailer, I would probably go with the B+ as well. Vans are so easy to stealth camp in. One huge plus, literally!

Lib, I’m in a Class B+ and absolutely love it. I have more kitchen counter space in this one than I’ve seen in any RV and have a huge closet and tons of cabinets. My bathroom is a big wet bath which gives me much more room than most RV bathrooms that have such tiny showers you can’t possibly wash your feet.

It’s designed to sleep six but is only 23 feet long. It has one slide out which encompasses the sofa. There was a dinette there but I took it out.

If I had a million dollars I’d still keep this RV.

Real nice B+.... what brand/model is it? Thanks

2003 Dynamax carrigo. Even has solid oak cabinets

Welcome to the CRVL forum, Liv. I like your rainbow polka dot dog very much.

If you are unsure which kind of RV to get, go to Quartzsite and RTR this winter, and spend a couple of weeks browsing around the many 1000s of RVs in the area. Talk to the owners about the good and bad points of each type of rig. They will be more that happy to share. Ask especially about water systems and holding tanks. You'll learn a lot in very short time.

Good luck with your search, and may the Call of the Wild (Outback) be with you, :).
Peace.

I enjoy your posts, LivGolden.

I’ve had a Class B for many years, and love it’s smallness and maneuverability.

Thank you, W-Rose.  :)

I like the Class B's. A little pricey for me and I'm unsure about buying one used. I understand some Class B's are larger than others. I have a Golden - she weighs 80 lbs. and is use to having roominess so that's a consideration. Maneuverability is also important. So, still looking...I think attending WRTR/RTR will give me an opportunity to look at what others have and pick their minds.

Have a great day!
