please dont buy them the $9.99 full set of wrenches or sockets, they are cheap, dont fit good and will break and i'm tired of punching the suspension when they do,i just had to play nice when given a set, might just toss them to avoid the injury, now the $20 craftsmen rachet,go for it

Once a week Sears has a sale, and always has one or two good tools at a good discount.

I built up my sets that way.  Now in a couple days

I used to go every Saturday with a friend before work at the garage and buy Craftsman screw drivers for pocket change then go to Sears and exchange them for new ones, when one of the mechanics wanted to "use" one of my screw drivers I would give him a brand new one and tell him to never ask again.

gave them to the neighbor kid and showed him how to tighten his bike chain,he was stoked, all is good

yea,i need to purge my tool box of crap and hit some estate sales

I got a set of the made in USA craftsman sockets last summer at a small town pawn shop that was going out of business. Also got a few Milwaukee 12 volt drill and two batteries to add to my set of their 12v tools. My gf got a leather bomber jacket for $2, he gave her the pretty blond discount, I knew I should have had her buy my stuff too!

You gotta watch the Craftsmen tools now, some of them don;t have the quality the old ones have. They started selling all these "gadget" tools a few years ago that are of much less quality than the original tools. Their base tools are still good quality (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc). If you use tools allot and want quality ones that will last forever it's worth the money to buy ones like Snap-On and the other professional tools. For most of us though Craftsman will suffice.

The Milwaukee 5540 polisher is an awesome tool, especially if the older made in the USA version. I paid 200+ dollars for mine in the mid 90's, and the only issues were the trigger filling with dust, an easy fix, and the powercord, also an easy fix.

This is the standard gold standard surfboard sanding and polishing tool, and gets ridiculous amount of abuse in factories.

The attachments used for sanding surfboards are 8 inch pads with the 5/8 arbor called powerpads, in hard medium and soft versions. Use 3m feathering disc adhesive to attach various grit sandpaper to these pads.

Awesome tool. for 15$ you are laughing.

stern beat me to it. those buffers make excellent sanders. I have an older Snap-On. highdesertranger

with corded tools I have found that when you are done with the tool and putting it away.
1. do not warp up the cord tight.
2. do not wrap the cord around the tool.
3. let the cord rest naturally straight out.
4. do not force the cord into a 180 or even a 90.

I used a TON of wire in a large or even a small sound system and care and handling makes a MAJOR difference in replacement costs.........Rule #1 .NO ELBOW WRAPPING , PERIOD !
