I had heard of FreedomPop before but had forgotten about the company. Thanks for bring it up, I've added it to my notes.

I typed in my zip and it said your covered! Enter your info to activate/checkout/pay. Ummm im highly suspicious that im covered here by anything. Where exactly can i get the wifi in my zip code, there are no details at all lol The nearest major metro area is 2 hours away and I use the term loosely. I look at wifi networks around here all the time and never seen one with their name on it. Im not gonna pay 5 bucks to use mcdonalds wifi thats free anyway....

I clicked on their coverage page and it is a blank screen :D

Their coverage is pretty limited, kind of like Cricket was in the beginning. Certainly nothing that would do me any good up in the mountains.

Read the comments in that article to get an idea of the issues with that service. And wifi is free in too many spots to pay anybody money for it.

Speculate that free wifi means airports. You have to pay at certain locations to use wifi. They would make it less expensive by licensing with other companies. Pure speculation of course. --- else the company is selling "canned air". And that's already free.

So far, there's been no mention of it's speed or bandwidth.  Will I be able to stream video when I want?  If not, it would be useless to me, even if it were free.

Regards
John
