I was watching that old episode of "Mash" with the folding bathtub. So I Googled it.
Intriguing.
http://www.amazon.com/Common-tubs-F...NKW3&coliid=I1WXJ8ZL8GKQXG#productDetails

YouTube video shows adults using it. Not large adults like me though.

Still might work for a sit down spritz. I wish they had the dimensions. Not too pricey.

Hey, I'm still in the dreaming stage.

Oh now I see the dimensions. 41"L x 22"W x 20"H. That's at the top. Bottom is smaller.

Dimensions are there in cm. Converted to inches are approximately: top 42" long x 22" wide x 20" deep with the bottom 29"long. I like it! Should get it for my cabin.

Asians are smaller than us and it appears they have dry ice in the tub to look like steam.

Eh, I'll probably stick with what I use now. The shower enclosure with a bucket and a big plastic measuring cup with a handle. Heat up the water with the little propane burner.

After much experimentation, I think that those solar bags are a total pain in the butt. They're either too hot or too cold, they're too heavy and they often leak.

Solar shower...er... if its too hot add some cold if it too cold add some hot. Interesting - yes...sensible - not in my "been there" opinion. Don't overthink it! I used, yes it worked great, I'm making a new one. 12 years later. Commonly found drain pipe and fittings then either sew by hand or find a person who will sew for you any tarp of your choice, better quality - longer life, to the size you want then add a drain fitting...then silicone all the seams! Done! Its good to have a bag to keep it together while the needle and thread is at it. My made to measure, to slide under my van specs, unit is a shallow tub I usually use for a shower basin but have filled up on a hot day for a cooling sit! I generally collect all my days water use in it as I am super green so it is not so much grey water as off-clear and repurposes great to wet a rag or clean camp dirty hands. I always sat it on cardboard. Oh, I've revised my own plans to include a simple old cheapo canvas air mattress to make it more comfy to sit, easier to move and elevate the drain. Then again...a repurposed old foamie from an RV...

couldn't you just use one of those inflatable kiddie pools. we use a rather large one in camp for water storage for our in camp prospecting needs.

you can see the corner of it in this pic.

highdesertranger

Wow...cool, a pool! What a lot of water, as a rule I'm on someone's government land and I'm in the 3 gallons a day and reusing some range for a lot of my time. Here in Canada I can legally homestead and stay in one place all summer on "Crown Land", our BLM. *HINT* I'm sure this belongs elsewhere so feel free to share but if you are Canadian and "homestead", you have the legal responsibility to "improve" the land. Drive a path in and out then do in the veg in the middle, clear your site and deal effectively with your waste and you have made an improvement!

if i tried to use that folding tub...there are only two things that would fit in there.

and the water displacement would be epic.

I dunno about homesteading in B.C. From what I gather, they repealed the Homesteading Act a number of decades ago. ..Willy.
