OK  I am so over this iPhone 6 plus, not using 95% of the features because I just don't care to, I go weeks without a call and thats OK, I see and like the "senior" style flip phones gonna give this iPhone to a family member after I get a "senior" flip phone any of you "seniors" (haha) point me in the right direction using Verizon. I like Motorola anything made in America, or am I just dreaming.

I have a Casio mil spec flip phone on Verizon it's a GZ one. it's the toughest, longest range phone I ever had. as far as reception it beats the hell out of the smart type phones. highdesertranger

And I have a flip phone I got at a Verizon store some years ago. It gets good reception. I have a prepaid plan and don't use it much--it doesn't text. Works great for me. I use the computer for written stuff. A lady I know on Face Book recently said she was ditching her smart phone and going back to the flip phone and wifi computer.

AT+T is dropping 2G service on it's towers Dec.31st , but Verizon isn't !
Most flips are 2G ,,,,,some will do 3G though , just a FYI to everyone.
(My mom's (on AT+T towers) Tracfone flip was 2G and they sent her another one that would do 3G but it won't speed dial so she can't/won't use it and I have it in my pocket now.)

heh I'm still on Droid maxx. The only apps I use are free camp sites and Uber Eats...

Is it 3G looking on eBay they are inexpensive, what model Boulder,Ravine or does it matter?

Motorola made in America? Not really. I have purchased many Motorola phones, but the current one will be the last one.

When my previous phone's micro-USB port failed to charge the battery, I wavered about a flip phone or a "smart" tracking device, and succumbed once more for a Motorola, a Z Play Droid (mouthful to spit out). Recently the phone upgraded itself. As the phone restarted a "Lenovo" logo flashed across the screen. Had I known Lenovo was involved I would never have purchased the device.

I see HDR has a Casio. Those are good solid phones. I worked for Verizon Wireless for ten years. Always solid and reliable (internal info) on Casio's. Of course they are not the gravy makers like Apple and Samsung. The push is to sell DATA, that is the money train.

PS Regarding the issue with network connectivity, but can't make calls, my current phone does advise of this condition and states that 911 calls would go through. South of Longstreet Casino into CA (I could still see the casino) I was stuck. I managed to get about a mile farther down the highway and I got enough signal to make non-emergency calls.

911 calls work on unactivated phones, and I think they will roam without roaming agreements. The latter was probably your case.
