I took these pictures from my porch today. I figure I'm probably about five miles or so from where the fire started.

We are a lot futher away than that and I still don't think being out in the smoke and haze is good for anybody.

Well, the ash and smoke hit my neighborhood late last night or early this morning, so I just stayed away from the condo for the day. I'll be at work tonight, so I'm not going to be in the bad air for several hours. Depending on how bad the air is when I get home, I may just set up the rest of my road trip gear and spend the next few days in the car.
 
Maybe that bug out gear was a pretty good idea after all?
