Hi everyone, thank you for adding me. My name is Renee and I am researching and considering moving out of the little house I rent and into my 2000 Subaru Outback so I can save money and then hopefully get some type of larger vehicle such as van or truck camper. I have lived in a VW camper in the 80's and then in a converted school bus in 2006 but these were just for a few months. I am ready to leave Morgantown, WV though for a number or reasons. So looking forward to learning from everyone.

Hi Renee, It sounds like you already have a fairly good idea of what's going on.
Welcome to here from there. :)

A portable solar set up would give you a good source of 12v power. Smartphone internet is also a good thing.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

I've done a bunch of Van travel in the past myself.  I'm still in my home but am slowly prepping my Van for travel and looking for deals on Cargo Trailers.   I'm in southern Ohio near the Marshall University area.   I often speak with Students telling them about this site and offering them to look at my two websites below.  I see a lot of Van
dwellers running around this area in various types of rigs.

I presently have a Ford E 350 extended High Top with a class 4 receiver hitch.  I've always enjoyed my Van's (as I've owned several now) but I think I'll keep with a clean white Van and Cargo Trailer as those seem to attract the least attention from "curious" law enforcement officers.   When I travel I always try to appear clean and business like (like a contractor) so I can fit into any crowd.  just something I've learned to do over the years.

All the best in your travels.

Welcome to CRVL Renee - Jahmai. I hope you find a cozy corner as you enjoy all the great people, stories and wealth of information this forum offers. Be safe and enjoy the roads ahead.

Thank you, for all the friendly greetings and advice.

Hello, and belated welcome!

Those subies make really nice homes, especially if you're under 5'8", hope it works well for you.
