Hi everyone im new to forum and new to living in my truck.  I have spent the lsst 30 days converting a 2006 tahoe into an rv.  Wasnt my first choice but neither was being forced into truck life so soon.  Im posting because though i have 0 experience living in my truck i do on the other hand have vast experience in carpentry electrical and plumbing.  My truck has hot and cold water on demand, solar (probably not enough), full kitchen, heat (diesel), onboard hot cold shower (built in) etc etc all done in about 37 days due to the fact i was about to be homeless but now i refer to it as being "homemore" and couldnt be happier.  Everything i have has been welded or built in a driveway (ugh the rain).....long story short would love to meet some people to trade knowledge.  I am headed to Colorado springs in aboutva week and will be parked there for a month if anyone in the area needs some help.  Again thanks for excepting me into yalls net, i promise to be a productive member.
Chris

I love that look on your Tahoe, and have thought of doing this with my 04 diesel 4x4 Ford Excursion.

I wish i could have found a 3/4 ton for the money i had at the time....dreading going to the scales upon completion of build...ivectried to disperse the weight equally

Here was my first attempt at pullout kitchen on the cheap....hardware cost 6 bucks at harbor freight....its out currently and adding a drop in camp chef stove and functional sink with plumbing...because im limited on interior  space the kitchen has to be pulled out so sucks on crappy weather days my awning will cover my new design....built the 270 diy wwning from overlanding on a budget

It all looks really nice, so does it slide on th carpet? What do the inverted casters do?

The base is waxed 3/4 subfloor...the drawer bottom is 22" wide 3/4 waxed subfloor, the drawer body is 1/4" smaller on both sides so the only point of friction is the drawer base. The casters are from a furniture dolly from harbor freight bolted upside down making contact to cabinet top ( bed platform) The weight of the drawer keeps the casters permanently against the top of cabinet when pulling out so no legs are required. The drawer fully loaded with dry goods is about 75lbs and no sag. My budget is crazy small so drawer guides were out. I can pull it out with one finger. When fully extended there is 12" of drawer body still in cabinet for the cantilever.?.i hope this makes sense....one of my favorite accomplishments

Pretty neat and seems to work well do the casters hit a lip to prevent it from coming all the way out or do you pin it? What keeps it from completely coming out?

Did you plasti-dip your Tahoe? I kove plasti-dip, and you with the idea of doing a color on the bottom half of my Scamp.

Very clever no-drawer guide solution. You will do well with that kind of flexibility/creativity.

Be sure to holler when you make it to AZ. You'll find plenty of forum members in the state.

not to hijack your thread but here is a link to a company in Idaho that converts suburbans and such.
https://www.suboverland.com/

maybe a link someone admiring your rig could get further inspiration.

your build looks better than that company... maybe your their future competitor

Bullfrog, no it stays where ever you stop pulling...yes you could pull it all the way out but it doesnt move if not pulling. Ravella and X its actually Raptor liner...i love the stuff..i bought it on amazon for i think 249 its a 2 part urethane and virtually indestructible if put on properly. It comes with a spray gun...its basically bedliner. Lots of trips to Copart auctions and pick n pull salvage yards. Get in good with these places and they will usually let you prowl for stuff not bolted down to insurance right offs For example they got a 5th wheel in from a wreck that had severe damage like rollover and im guessing the tow company just throws the loose parts on the road into the shell at the scene of the wreck. I got all my water pumps fuse blocks accumulaters and piping this way for about 15 bucks for everything...the trailer was a 2019 so BINGO.....Desert_sailing thank you so much for the compliment where i might be excellent at the building its the solar and figuring out the lifestyle that im lacking DRASTICALLY...internet, solar, how to do mail im so clueless...exactly why im in a hurry to hookup with some folks that i can helpout building or mechanicing to trade for lifestule lessons.

Lots of people are having fun spraying and rolling onto their vehicles , flexible, peelable coatuings. Plastic Dip is indeed one of the products being used for this. Rhino truck bed liner is not to my knowledge supposed to peel off. But for all I know perhaps they have formulated a coating to take advantage of that market craze.
