Anyone know if you can mount flex panels to 1/4" plywood panels just larger than solar panels. Glue, staple or tape??? If I attached them to a ladder rack, Chevy Express Extended Cargo Van, would the vibration damage them especially off road or would the plywood protect them?? So many questions ...so little time! :dodgy:
 
why not just use regular ridged panels if you have a ladder rack? they are cheaper, last longer, more watts per sq ft and they are more durable. highdesertranger
 
Yeah the flex panels get cloudy in a couple years.
 
1/4" ply is pretty thin. It in itself is too flexible, imo. Maybe step up to 1/2". But then there is the weather factor.
Wet plywood tends to buckle and delaminate in time. At least you have the panel protecting the top of the ply. Perhaps a coat of sealant or paint first. I'd probably use nuts and bolts with fender washers to secure the panel to the wood. Then you secure that to the rack with same nuts and bolts or yet more nuts and bolts. Just some thoughts.
