I just used the following 4 input screen with my 4 rear view cameras: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00Z...65&keywords=SallyBest®+7+Inch+16:9+HD+4+Split

very cool I have been thinking of how to do this I like the four monitors that Ahhme has seems simple, but this one seems even simpler how does it work, that looks like an easy set up, likely cheaper then having four backup systems. I just looked on amazon and saw a few very inexpensive cameras like 12.00 each can you just plug these into a monitor like this one? how well would they work, Do you need night vision? Is night vision that they advertise really night vision or does a light shine outside the vehicle by the camera? Do the cameras need a power source or does the power need only be at the monitor?

I "think" that this might be part of the answer for me...and I'm fairly sure it operates with a 12v wall wart, so easily integrated. And afaik, that VCR out should serve fine as a 2nd monitor...although buying something that actually says VCR on it makes me a little concerned...

Yes that unit will operate on 12 v power, the VCR out is also a standard composite video signal so will definitely
run a second monitor.

Looks like an overall nice unit, just make sure and order with RCA connectors as this one has the BNC connectors
so it would be the PIPV2RCA model instead.

What I prefer about my way of doing it is my 4 little monitors take up less space than a full size screen,
and I have 4 separate systems, so the chances of them all failing together are very slim.
