Hello All!
I've been lurking for several years and finally decided to join. I'm constantly inspired by the creativity and determination of the people here.
About me:
I'm a happily married, monogamous 37 year old pansexual woman who lives in a traditional brick-and-sticks house, but dreams daily of the nomadic life. Because I find enjoyment, love, humor, and so much more in my relationship with my homebody of a wife (and our menagerie of critter-kids) I don't think I'll ever be able to be a full-time nomad. My wife just doesn't find the idea appealing, and as for life without her -- I find that unacceptable.
However, she supports my desire to independently explore and experience the world, so part-time nomad-ism is within reach!
For a long time I was waiting around for us to get the money together to buy a used motorhome, but then one day I saw a quote by (I think) Teddy Roosevelt that said "Do what you can with what you have, where you are." At first that simple philosophy ticked me off -- it seemed awfully fatalistic, but then I realized just how little of my resources and potential I use every day.
So rather than wait for some far-off day I'm in the process of building a removable bed/gear storage system for my Toyota Corolla. I hope to finish it soon and perhaps even make it down to Quartzite for a few weeks this fall or winter!
