Mainly city dweller here, and you want as many windows as you can get, and the more of them that open the better. Opening windows offer far better ventilation than roof vents alone.

I have many years of experience, and the only time I worry about letting any light out is if I am parked in a no camping zone. For the most part, the more you try to hide, the more problems you'll have. You're not fooling anybody but yourself. People who try to hide are usually considered by others to be either homeless, criminals, or both. Conversely, more obvious campers do not instill the fear and negativity in others that the people trying to hide do. People who try to hide hurt us all. People are afraid of what they either can't see or don't understand, and they will call the cops on you. SOMEBODY IS ALWAYS WATCHING!

I have camped in cities all over the country and continue to do so. This includes many cities that have no camping, or no sleeping in vehicles ordinances. I still don't try to hide, and very very rarely have any trouble. At worst, I may be asked to move, and 99% of the time, they will be very helpful in telling me where I can camp safely and undisturbed, sometimes even in the police parking lot. I frequent several cities that do strictly enforce their anti-camping laws, and have an open invitation in each of them to use the police station parking, or other dedicated and approved parking when I'm in town.

Very few people can be happy and maintain a healthy state of mind while living in a box with no windows.
