ok folks I have been wanting to do this for some time, over the holidays I have started to build a poptop, I am not sure it will ever go on the van at this stage but I have started the build, if it turns out and works I will cut the hole .....
my plan is to make it out of marine ply and glass the topside like the bottom of a wooden boat.

the material.... I salvaged this bit of timber from a railing job I did a few years back I will use it, total cost so far 0.00

my plan is to shape the sides in at the front and back, round the top corners, a small camback with a 12 to fifteen degree angle. I also still want to be able to use my roof rack for my kayaks

Looking good! I told myself if I ever did a poptop I would use a fiberglass tonneau  cover like these:

I even have one laying up against a wall outside at work in case the mood strikes!
