Where ever you find me
i had someone put in a new starter for me a couple days back.    Just a guy in camp.  Seemed to be a good job.

Today I drove for a couple hours and discovered that all the ciggy chargers on my dash board are not working...all of them.   Also, the A/C unit (complete new system) is also not working at all.

I think when the guy disconnected the electrical from the starter...he disconnect a bunch more too.

I know very little about this....but, is this something I could get under the E350 and see for me Self?   What do I look for?   Anyone show me a picture of what it likely should look like?

I have to get this fix.  1) I need those chargers to power my navigation system.  And 2) its getting way too hot to drive much without A/C

Have you looked at your fuse panel?

I'd check the fuses first (it's a good habit for these kinds of problems) then I'd look around the battery to see if a bunch of wires were left off during the starter change.

he should have only disconnected your positive battery cable. actually on yours nothing needs to be disconnected as the starter has no hot wire running to it. did the starter solve your hot start problem? highdesertranger

HDR...yes, the starter did the job. The old starter was a tiny thing compared to the MotorKraft I got at your suggestion (thank you for that), so that was likely the reason it just didn’t have the power to start the engine when hot (resistance).

I’ll start with the fuses in the morning....than just a look around to see if I spot anything not hooked up.

Wouldn’t the electrical connection to the starter be under the truck? Down where the starter is?

good to here. on your Ford there is only one wire to the starter, it's only hot when energized by the solenoid you had several wires connected to the solenoid. check there to see if one was left off. highdesertranger

All fuses are ok

Don’t see anything around the top of the engine that looks disconnected.....

I look a couple pictures...but this web site will not allow me to attach them...too big.

Never did find a way to change the size on the iPad.

Anyway.nothing around the battery seems disconnected.   Same with the harness on the other side.

if I recall correctly there were several wires connected to the battery positive side of the solenoid. highdesertranger

I still say there is a fuse out somewhere. Often when the ciggy plug blows it takes something else with it.

Looked every where for disconnect wire ... of any sort. Everything looks good

.I wiggled every relay I could find...and .. behold..chargers started working!

So..loose wire, but now I don’t know where. Next failure, I will wiggle..then test, the wiggle, and test...etc.

So, I am again running fine.

Thanks to you and HDR for the advise!
