Digital nomad with MCS

Hi 

I just spent a few weeks binge watching Bob's YouTube channel and figured it was time to join the forum, too. I'm a web developer from Canada with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. I've had a heck of a time finding housing that won't make me sick, so I joked and said, "I'll just live in my car!" Well, that idea snowballed and I just put a deposit on a camper van named Baloo (as in the bear from the Jungle Book). It's not a far stretch for me; I lived off the grid for 3 years, I've lived in my vehicle or a tent 4 other times in my life when I couldn't find housing. The only difference is this time I'm doing it deliberately, full-time, and better set up.

Welcome. I have MCS, too. So many times I have wished I had wheels to escape someone drenched in an offending fragrance....when I retire and am a mini van dweller, I can do just that!

I am not surprised to meet other canaries (people with MCS) on here. Many of us escape to the desert. I'm fortunate and worked hard to have a job that allows me to work remotely. I hope you get to find a safe space.

Since I will be retired, I will be free to just use my wheels and relocate any time I need to. That is the beauty of van dwelling.

Sononna, Welcome! Have you spent nough time in the camper to make sure nothing bothers your condition? Many things are made with formaldehyde & other things that outgas, paneling, OSB, plywood, adhesives, etc.
