Diesel stealth truck idea

hmmmm, your not the only one that was thinking about that, I needed to retire a fleet truck and had the choice of a 12' box or my Chevy 2500 diesel with a service body. I planned on a mini adventure conversion for the kids and I so was weighing the power/mileage of the Chevy, against the room of the box. The 4' width limitation of the service body lost out. Although I will say the service body never gets ticketed, even when working over night, and with our rules on oversize vehicles here the box always will.
So for stealth though I think you are right on, a service body never stands out anywhere commercial or residential, as it just looks like a service call which happen 24/7.

In a lower middle class area, it also might just look like someone drove their work truck home.

Something like this: (8ft, painted white, in better condition) on a 4x4 3/4 ton truck would likely be great.

Yahtzee!!! That is darn near exact although not sure I'd want it as tall.. But can you imagine the room inside if you deleted some of the usable boxes and were just a big open box inside... What a canvas to work with..
Thanks for the photo Needanescape!!

Boy...that one could really work well for this application!!!

and finding a truck to stick under it would be a snap! An old van/ambulance would be slick!! Once you wore that unit out, you could always stick something different under it.

and with the ladder rack on top, you could always stick your surfboards between the ladders in a 'stealthy' manner!

hey...I'm really starting to dig this idea!!
