It should be noted that even in areas where overnighting in Walmart is banned by city ordinance, most Walmarts won't enforce it anyway. I've spent plenty of n ights parked in a Walmart lot where it was tecnically illegal to do so. Unless you are a PITA, nobody cares.

First of all, become a customer ... go in and buy something and keep receipt handy?
Second, just how long are you staying?  Goodness, when I shop at a 24 hour Super Walmart it takes me a few hours to get through everything... stuff, clothes, and food...  (which is why I try to only go twice a year)....   I can get a good sleep to move on in that length of time!:)

guys walmart does NOT pay taxes, they will NOT build a store unless they are given massive tax breaks or deferments.

Funny how there is a double standard here. There is another thread running right now on how to avoid paying sales taxes for online purchases. I wonder how many millions of dollars that adds up to every year.

Oh well.

But...Walmart like every big retailer including Amazon and the big box stores DO pay taxes and DO look for the best tax reductions possible. It helps keep the prices lower to the customers, keeps the business profitable, employees working, and shareholders happy.

If the minimum wage had actually kept pace with inflation, it would currently be over $20 an hour.

I'm not sure, though, why Walmart's minimum-wage workers would be any more (or less) of a burden to public assistance than any other of the zillions of companies in our minimum-wage economy.
