Converting a pop open van window, to a stationary window

Hey all, 

I want to install floor to ceiling insulation and wall along the driver side wall of my van, covering the window. The issue is that the driver side window I want to cover up has pop open handles that would prevent me from doing the installation. Is there any way to convert this to a "normal" window? I have done a fair amount of searching online, but I've only found solutions for the reverse problem: turning stationary windows into pop open windows.

This is really holding back my van build so if anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them!

It can be done by changing the whole window system. Or pull glass and trim, weld sheet metal over the opening. Easier and better price to work around the latch.

You didn't say what kind of van you have or where you are located but perhaps you could post a thread and see if someone wanted to trade out a stationary glass for a pop-out.  If it were me I'd either do it myself or hire it done just to get the pop-out   Just a thought.

I don’t understand how a handle would prevent you from doing this, mine are pretty close to the glass, if it were me I would just paint the window glass with a spray can from the inside either black or the colour of the van or alternatively install a limo tint to it then get on with insulating and building whatever you want to do inside.

I don't understand why it would prevent you from insulating and covering the wall. You could build around the handles. Do the handles stick out farther than the ribs of the van wall? If so, how much?

Where are you located, I might trade you. I have too many solid windows and want Pop outs.
