Are there any suggestions for this middle aged man from the North East section of the country thinking of putting thr rat race behind me?

Save your money, go slowly and try some trips with what you have already. Try coolworks.com for some short seasonal work to get a taste of life on the road. Try backpacking in your vehicle a few weekends. Get an idea of the minimum space you can comfortably live in. Get a passport and do any administrative type things that require a permanent physical address. Do as much as possible on line and see how it works for you.

watch as many of the cheaprvliving youtube channel videos as you can stand, He answers every conceivable question you could have. You can also shortcut poking around by getting Bob Wells courses on udemy or skillshare. Also do keyword searches on this forum.

2 great replies above. I'd say slow down and research first. Develop a possible budget. Several channels give their monthly expenses, compare that with your future income.

Try spending 4-6 hours during the day and then sleeping overnight in a 5'x10' space taped out on the floor of your place and remember you likely cannot stand up.

Way too many things to consider and very little info about you/your situation to say much else.

I don't know your situation, emotional, your baggage in life :), or finances etc.

but hit youtube. van dwelling. hit up van builds on youtube. hit web sites about campgrounds, national forests and camping and all that. There is a wealth of info out there.......then as you research it all, think how you personally fit into it all and what you would want with life out on the road. wishing you the best ;)

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.
