This is very cool! You've done a great job! Good for you.

Wow Brian! Great going! It's looking very nice and comfy in there. You have more room that I do but I think I will put my bed where you've got yours. I just finished with all my windows and ready for the bed now. Are you going to insulate it or just go where the sun is?
eta: Sorry about losing your house.
Thank you for your service!

Thanks, Cleanheart!

I am doing a pretty minimalist conversion so no insulation. Eventually I would like to follow the sun but am stuck here for now. Had I gotten a cargo van with bare walls, I think I would have insulated it.

I am trying to have the van functional in the next few weeks, so there is a bit of a rush. I can tinker with it and refine it after that, but where I am living now is kind of iffy, so I have to be ready. Also, I am contemplating a 2 week road trip in March to see friends and relatives if I am still out of work.

Cleanheart, if you don't mind me asking, what did you do for your windows? What kind of vehicle do you have? I am thinking maybe tint and some kind of curtains for mine. I haven't been brave enough to get an estimate for the tint yet. lol. I figure I can probably devise some kind of decent looking curtains after that.

Thanks again for your kind comments.

Nothing major but put in vent shades and got the windows tinted. I already caught one nosy person peeking into the van, so since I haven't made my curtains yet, it is nice to have the tint.

Damn Brian, being from MA myself I can imagine what you're going through... as I ran away from the snow myself this year to build my van. Props to you building a snow fort workshop man, looks like its going to be a sweet ride once you get her done. I'll be down for a the NE RTR, just... as soon as it stops snowing

Lol about the snow fort, Kyuubs.

Progress is slow, but I made myself a small table for the van. It is just big enough for my computer, which is only an 11" MacBook Air, and a cup of coffee or a paper plate along with it. I have a cot chair at the end of my cot and it is fairly comfy sitting at the table.
