This seems like a productive solution for me.

Do y'all use grocery-store white vinegar like you keep in the kitchen? Or that high-octane 90% weed-killer kind?

Grocery store type. If it does not say that it is food safe vinegar on the label then I do not want that residue on my dishes. That is my thinking. It is not always about cost savings. But in my case it is also about space savings as smaller containers weigh less and take up less cabinet space. So I pay a little extra for the vinegar fully realizing there is always a trade off somewhere when you do not have a big kitchen with lots of cabinets.

In fact I've used ordinary grocery store vinegar and paper towels to detail the interior of my car. This was after studying a fair number of videos on car detailing. One young entrepreneurial type made the very good point, that all these barriers one puts up that you "must have this gizmo" to do the work, doesn't basically have a point. The point is to get a result that a client likes, and he started with a simple brush and some cleaners, before buying anything else. Well vinegar and paper towels is what I had, so I followed his advice and actually got some results.
