This seems like a productive solution for me.

Do y'all use grocery-store white vinegar like you keep in the kitchen? Or that high-octane 90% weed-killer kind?

Grocery store type. If it does not say that it is food safe vinegar on the label then I do not want that residue on my dishes. That is my thinking. It is not always about cost savings. But in my case it is also about space savings as smaller containers weigh less and take up less cabinet space. So I pay a little extra for the vinegar fully realizing there is always a trade off somewhere when you do not have a big kitchen with lots of cabinets.
