Can I use a circuit breaker instead of fuse on my house battery?
Reason I ask is because I've never seen a 12 volt circuit breaker.

Make sure to use a DC rated breaker, not the more common AC ones. Voltage rating on a breaker is maximum, so a 32V one would be fine.

Trailer Electric brakes and the controller use CBs. Safety factor to not just kill the circuit until a stop with no trailer brakes is made to change fuse.

12V CB are available at Autozone, et al.

Generic ones use studs to attach wires. One stud is copper, that is for the 12V HOT (BATT) source. The other is for the LOAD side. That distinction has to be observed for proper function of the breaker.

If a CB keeps popping then something is not right and the circuit should be checked.

They are used in the trailer braking app, as a long downhill may cause the circuit to pop, then after a cool down the circuit will be okay. They are not replacement for fuses in circuits.

Sometimes a circuit will need to stay down until remediation.

The 20 & 60 amp CBs for my brakes are supplied by a 100A fused source. Catastrophic failure protection for the electrical system.
