There's a discussion going on down in the WOMEN'S ONLY sub-forum about Mr. Wrong.  Being male myself, I'm not allowed to post down there.  (I will say that it has gone a LONG way to explain why the DATING FOR VANDWELLERS sub-forum hasn't had a new post in 6 months.  Seems like it's completely un-needed here. But I digress.)

It has raised an interesting technical issue, that I really don't know the answer to.  How much hassle is it to get a new phone number assigned to your cell phone, and are there such things as un-listed numbers in the cell world?

Anyone here know the answers?

Regards
John

In my experience, there are no listed numbers with cell phones.

There should be no problem changing numbers with your carrier.  The problem I have run into is a ex bought me a phone and had my number put on it with her carrier.  I had to lose that number because there was a long contract with that phone I did not want. (and a psycho relationship I did not need!

With my new number came 1 1/2 years (so far) of calls and texts for the previous owner. It seems Becky did not send out a message telling people she was changing her number.  Messages such as HEY, I AM OUTSIDE WAITING!  That showed up while camped in Quartzite.   :p

My Verizon android I can block a caller. I have to first give the number a name, then I can block that name.

i use mr number app, might be good to block mr wrong. it lets me block individual callers, block whole area codes, make exceptions for my contacts, only allow my contacts, and lets me choose to never hear the call, get a notification, and send to voicemail or just hangup. its free too.

im setup to block all non local numbers unless on contact...cut down a lot on spam. it automatically blocks unlisted or blocked numbers. then its just a matter of blocking each local person the last owner of the number knows until silence...

Getting a new number isnt hard tho some charge you after x number of times. republic wireless gives me 2 for free.
