Come to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. It's no big deal here in Washington and Oregon where recreational and medical are  legal.

I hope to ... but the context of this message is there are states between here and there that may consider it a big deal.

thanks for the suggestion!  I will be there at some point in time.

It's easy. if you leave Colorado, leave the dope at home.

Yeah, I don't want to leave my dogs.  They're both dopes.

I originally mentioned that I had a "red card" mainly to establish that I am a consumer of cannabis. I am aware it means exactly Jack s*t anywhere else.

I don't smoke in the car , don't plan to smoke in the trailer. May quit if it's a real problem. Smell is not an issue, and I've found that Ozium works REALLY well.

Carrying less than an ounce is not a problem. If you have to buy an ounce, it aint' cheap anymore (I'm 63 and remember when ounces were $15-20)
These days an ounce lasts me a long time. Especially some of the stuff I grew a couple of years ago.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Related question for the OP, I haven't smoked since the 80's so am clueless about it now... is there a way to consume that doesn't involve your lungs? I have wicked asthma now so I was curious, sounds like it would have been a much nicer alternative to the mountain of tramadol, gabapentin, and oxy they gave me after my knee replacement.

Be careful with the under such and such amount or I have a red card. There are states that will put you in prison for a few joints.

I got your message , jimindenver.  Again, I didn't mention the red card because I was under the mistaken impression that it means ANYTHING in ANY OTHER STATE.
And I get it.  it's ILLEGAL in other states.
It's been illegal since about the 1920's or so.  And I know that there are places  that will put you in prison for a few joints. or even less!
So, thanks for your feedback.  I will take it under the most serious consideration.

They have available things called Edibles ... a popular type is cannabis-infused candy... there are also various liquids that can be drunk ... if you were to go that route.... start small.  It's easy to eat an entire bar of edible because it tastes good  :D  and then wake up later drooling on the carpet.

I have had chronic pain for three years and unfortunately weed doesn't do anything for me.
That's good to know ... because I didn't think it would really help in that capacity for my pain, doctors ... urg. they just want to get us off the dreaded pain meds because they've found out how awful they really are! That's something of another topic tho.

I'm not the OP, obviously, but I know they have oils (as was previously mentioned), pills, creams ... my hair dresser's nurse wife has a card for her back issues, from my research you don't have to smoke it - there are many different type of application within the realm of "medical" mj ...

Seriously, you've never heard of hash brownies?

Do a Google Search on "baking with marijuana" and you will find lots of info, recipes, etc.

I'v posted on several military forums whether or not anyone thought that pot would help ease the pain from bad discs and or hip instead of using the opiates that are prescribed. Whether it would or not has been discussed and I am told it might. I may try.

I have also been advised that taking a federally illegal drug could cause the loss of ones VA benefits. Someone mentioned that the VA was considering allowing the use of medical marijuana which is great,, I can't stand the effects of Oxy or percaset. I am tested monthly for my Caumadin  level and as much as I do not trust the VA, they could sneak a weed check in there.

I've never smoked it and am neither for or against it. If I tried it I would be in Co. parked for awhile to see if it helped. If I were to lose my benefits I would be ruined monetarily and health care wise.

The person who warned me is well up the food chain in politics, he was my Company Commander and has stayed active in politics. I trust him.. Anyone with the VA is lying until proven otherwise. JMHO.

i live in Co Springs.  There are quite a number of military and former military here. Many of them are my friends.  The issue with VA benefits is a valid concern.  There are bills before Congress to change that.   It is still in the works, last I heard.  Several guys I know are still in the reserves, and can't imbibe.

Of course, I'm a child of the 60's and 70's.  :p  Just didn't know if that was a way you could do it legally now, everyone got so serious about pot over the years that even legal it makes me nervous.

Not a problem for me...........
Even if I had the desire , I couldn't afford it anyway!

Here's the real question.  Do you actually REMEMBER the 60's?  If you do, then you really weren't living them to the fullest! :p

If it's legal to buy grass in CO, then it's legal to BAKE with it in CO.  and better yet, when you're outside CO, how will the narcs know if there's anything special in your homemade Chocolate Chip cookies? ;)

There are a lot of options to smoking these days Queen. You should look into *** capsules as they are the medicinal part without the high. As a med user here in Canada (we do these things federally!) where that has been an option for over a decade I have been doing the science behind it as it comes along... big changes.

That said, the euphoria that accompanies the actual full plant (or extract) consumption is often a way to relax at the end of a day without hitting up an extra pill. It seems that about every nerve wants to jangle by days end! I also have asthma & can't handle the smoke... I find that the oil from my compassion club (its what we call out medical dispensary here) in one of those nifty, made for the job - not an e-cig, vape pens is great!

For me, when in the USA, any use is illegal as I fall under federal jurisdiction.

Interesting you were a LEO, my Mom was Canada's first military police woman during WWII. My brother became one & so I know a fair few too. Most just want this pot law nonsense to go away.

I've found that some of the edibles are extremely "predictable" as to the effect.  Therefore, you can use those, and they are NOT that expensive.  at least here in CO Springs.
Denver seems to be more expensive.

I don't ever drive while I'm high.. I sit at home and get couch-locked.   So, I avoid the chance of having someone make me feel nervous.  unless the TV starts talking directly to me.   Then I just check in to the loony bin.

Just kidding.  There's a lot more science involved, and two major strains that tend to have somewhat different results.  One strain, Indica, tends to me more body relaxation and less head high.  Sativa tends to be the opposite ... and then there are hybrids that mix the two in differing mixtures.

My neighbor makes "special" cookies all the time for her 80 year old husband, he has leukemia and it helps him with nausea and to sleep. It isn't legal here in FL so she buys it "from a guy she knows", but that makes for very inconsistent quality, she's really hoping it will become legal here so she can get something grown better.

I encountered a "Drug and Currency Checkpoit Ahead" sign on I70 in Kansas, when I was in my 18 wheeler. Kept going down the road and saw nothing. Unlike DUI checkpoints it's highly unconstitutional to do drug and currency checkpoints. Found a post on Reddit, on how Kansas gets around it. Quite sly! They have unmarked cars looking for car "tossing" things from the car, or exiting the hwy and making an illegal u turn, this giving them a legal reason to pull you over.

So If you are bringing some goodies back from Colorado and see that sign, don't stop or make any crazy u turns.

ITS A TRAP! DONT DO IT! [emoji12]
