The seat is cracked and it looks like the plastic is beyond repair.  The velcro leads me to believe that the previous owner had come up with some sort of method of keeping the seat stable but with a crack in the portion where your behind goes (ouch!!) it seems to make more sense to put a whole new seat on.  Not an rv seat, of course, because those appear to cost a fortune, but some other option maybe?

a household seat will not work on a RV. maybe with some ingenuity you could get one to kinda work. what manufacturer is your toilet? have you checked on a replacement seat? last time I replaced one it was only slightly more than a mid grade household seat. about 20 bucks. highdesertranger

Amazon seems to have gotten a little pricey the last few years.  highdesertranger

I was reading they lose a lot of money on the Prime shipping memberships and have a hunch they are making it up with higher product pricing all around as i've noticed I can usually find the same item cheaper elsewhere now and a few years ago it was next to impossible.

I have a six-month free trial in Prime so I'll try to take advantage of everyone else's money.
