but ya know, some do 'follow a bob cult' in a way LOL but I think when one becomes very well known for 1 particular action in life, like Bob with his van dwelling, then one gets some crazy put on them a bit from others.

Nah, it is all good cause Bob puts forth good energy out there! That is all that matters!

I watched Nomadland yesterday and it seemed pretty accurate, to me, tho I’ve not been to RTR.

I loved Bob referring to RTR as a “boot camp” for living in a vehicle, and everyone helping everyone else was consistent with what I’ve seen here and with my own eyes on the road.

Bob started this and has become it’s guru, and I say “good job, Bob!”

that is wonderful.  help from others is so important and knowing you are not alone out there   some people are very generous with their time and lifestyle to help others and it is a blessing they do just that for others.

I find it pretty troublesome that so many people seem to have issues with Bob's "philosophy" considering it's 95% about being kind and helping humanity. I'd love to know what is so horrible about that that you want to distance yourself from it.

i too find it troublesome but many (myself included) will put that out as a caveat since they may
have read "something" they disagree with. i just love what Bob is doing and think he's the cat's
meow [pun intended]

it doesnt take much bickering to get a thread shut down for sure (if any), but it usually is just the
presentation of facts (or opinions) and discussion ensues. the op usually says something
quite harmless, with a slight "dig" at someone or thing and then someone comes along and attempts
clarification or correction resulting in discussion that appears like bickering. discussion is how we obtain
information and learn things but it can quickly get out of hand. i was very resentful at first on this list
with the "no politics" thing (as MUCH of life involves politics in one shape or another) but have come to
agree with it and feel bad for taking part at times myself. i will probably continue to run afoul with the 
moderators at times as it is in my constitution to challenge any falsehoods i run across (that i deem are
important) and many can't stand to be corrected. [i will put out that i LOVE to be corrected if i'm wrong,
as i'm not omniscient, so please do so with a legitimate source]. we are hear for the main thing we have
in common; nomadism, vanlife, rv life, etc so i am more than happy to keep it on topic so our threads 
don't get shut down   peace, love, and FUN most of all!

many and I saw they just put out info that they were going to be giving out $50 to all nomads who need it. It’s going to be in Pahrump. Anyone have the info?

They also have a link to Amazon to different products that are needed for two van builds coming up. Do what you can. Even $5 a month can make a huge difference if enough people make that commitment.

Great Lefty! We can all hope that we don’t ever need the help one day and at least we can do a little to help those who do. $5 a month shouldn’t hurt too many people but if it does please don’t think you must contribute. I know I spend more going thru a drive thru at McDonalds.

An unfortunate aspect of being known for something is that other people broadcast opinions and statements about you which may have absolutely nothing to do with you or what it is you are doing!

Derogatory comments are posted which appear to give those posting them some satisfaction!

It must be quite awful to read, see and hear low opinions, derogatory remarks and malicious comments when the only thing that you're trying to do is to make things better for those that live in their vehicles!

There's a nasty undercurrent to 'Social Media' in which malcontents post their grudges, serving only to create difficulties rather than doing something positive themselves!

These observations are not criticisms of any posts on the thread!
