Caffeine powder is an interesting option.
How available is it?
Just did a very quick check on Amazon, and didn't find any (just lots of caffeine infused substances). I have limited net access (have to drive to town - grrr!argh!), so any specific sources/links would be welcome - thanks in advance. :)

As to the 3 days thing... it was a troll who posted that, so please don't feed/believe it. It's now in several anti-troll databases.
Killfile bots, FTW! :D
(Hint: "citation" is a Power Word.)

I've never had any issues with caffeine addiction.
After my TBI car accident, I had some serious gastric issues, and went cold turkey off caffeine, chocolate, mint, etc. Stayed that way for about a year, then gradually reintroduced first caffeine, then chocolate... Oh.Grandpa. :)
In my 20s, I did overdue caffeine, then cut back drastically in my early 30s to about one can per day.
My comments about Jolt were from my college days. :)

Update:
Been doing the caffeine pills + Kool Aid for over a week, with acceptable performance.
The only real issue is that the bottle cap of the 1L plastic bottle I'm using, develops some sort of mold/fungus. It may be an issue with the cap (more nooks & crannies than "normal"). I'm going to buy a new bottle, soon.
It might also be a local issue (National Forest).

I ended up buying the Dollar Tree 3 funnel set, and use the smallest one to pour in the kool-aid (which produces a fine powder) then the water.
Easy Peasy.

I will probably try a week of 2L Dew, as a control / stress-test.

I drink way to much diet cola and when I am staying away from it I use No Doze when I get caffeine withdrawal headaches first thing in the morning.
