Though neither my wife nor I havea copy of th contract
You would have left the dealership with all of the paperwork from this transaction, and if you can’t locate the page that explains terms of return, have the salesman point it out to you or give you another copy.

It does not sound like your “fuel pump” is the issue, but may be how you are holding and managing the input of fuel to your tank.

Some of these dispense fuel very quickly, and the automatic shutoff will turn off the pump because it is experiencing back flow and thinks your tank is full.

Let up on the handle a bit as you are dispensing fuel, which should help with that particular issue.

Any additional steps take?

Thank You
If it were me, I would call the Arizona State's Attorney's office. No idea what the law is in Arizona, but in Illinois cars can't be sold to people who realistically can't afford the payments. If there are similar consumer protections in Arizona, the AG will know. If there are no such laws, contact the AG from your state of residency. Here is the Arizona AG's number:

Thank you for the input folks.

I have been having some nuerological issues and challenges with decision making

On one hand getting a quality truck as my wife is sensitive to Mold and chemicals.may be challenging

But willing to do what's necessary

She won't like the idea of bankrupcy/repossession after using.her father's inheritance for the.downpayment

I was in a wreck hit by a truck in phx

Geico reimbursed me 5,800 last week.and said the will pay me remainder from the 8,700 differemce once I receive caiforinia title and submit possesion to coparts.

The Crv runs great at 200,009 miles.Its.just that the Ac my wife can't tolerate the mold

I would have been reinbursed.8,700 but awaiting.

As of now about 10k of savings in my account with chase since the reimbursement

It may cost 2-3k to fix exterior dents missing bumpers and try to fix the salvaged title it turned.into.after the accident.

Triple.AAA for both vehicles is the same as having one.[160/month]

Lyft driver suggested consider spending some of the 10k on something for 8k used an make money an that the silverado would be too.much of a gas guzzler

[My ssdi attorney friend in Orlando said it depends on the adjucator who reviews your ssdi review every 3 years when I asked if working part time cause them to cut you off disability.

And that it may be better to go.through ssdi ticket to work program. Not sure if there program offers doorsdash, lyft,et

And 40k in the joint credit union i am.learning to work.with the mistake.and minimizing damage
I know we are human and all make mistakes and would like to learn from this

My wife still prefers paying 680/month as it will help her credit score at 630

And brought up the idea of selling it or trading it in after some payments are made. She feels adamant about building up her credit and mentioned she has no problems with usuing the funds in inheritance to make the payments

Though she's open to Returning the vehicle/some kind of settlement as

The whole goal behind what i have posted is Fredom to live in Florida winter or NC,GA in the summer a good area away from pollution on our 1880 income

I understand I'm more primitive in that I can do without toilet but My wife needs to be more comfortable with larger toliet, shower and these type of Rvs run 40k at 27ft.

She feels crammed in anything smaller
Sensitive to mold and chemical offgassing so it's like 1 out of every 10 Rvs at camping world work for her [as an example ]

She's also open to me living in the vehicle and her staying in housing [whether sect 8 or studio lease that more flexible month to month]

With Mold illness we are open to unconventional living arrangements that differ from traditional norms in marriages

As bullfrog suggested one option is to hire an attorney

Appreciate any input folks
🙏

Update,

I just spoke to the finance guy after taking a lyft ride

He said that because it is outside of the 3 day period or 150 miles the vehicle is not returnable or exchangeable

Though neither my wife nor I havea copy of th contract

Told him a financial advisor at Edward jones suggested that 670 month is 35% of my wife and my ssdi income

He said can't you just wait till your wife's inheritance comes

I mentioned the 30-50k amount is unknown as the siblings are not 100% on the same page regarding the inhertance and probate

I told him that the stop start thing with the fuel pump.Basically at the gas staioj the gas pumps for a short while[maybe half a gallon] then stops.I can fill up gas just alot of stop an starts

He said your warranty should take care of it

He said he will talk to the general manager at chevy tomorrow and see what he can do about the situatiion after he knows what happened to the fuel pump issue

Any additional steps take?

Thank You
Dealership finance guy is not your friend and is not on your side. They work for the dealership and don't want the deal to be rescinded. You need to push if you want them to undo the deal and document everything because if you need to contact a lawyer later you will need the entire chain of conversation documented with evidence. Use emails after conversations to confirm your conversation days, dates, times and names for every time you speak to someone at the dealership about this.

Look around on YouTube and search for fees to avoid when buying a car. Everyone of them tell you NOT to get the extended warranties. This are all pure profit for car dealerships! They are like playing blackjack at a casino, the house has all the odds in their favor.

If you find yourself stuck and can't break the deal. You may consider calling the bank and telling them you plan to default on the purchase of the truck. You skip the next 4-5 payments, the repo it and sell it for what they can. You will still owe the balance, but it might save you some money.

^^^ Seems to me they would sell low to someone they deal with and stick him with a large debt and no truck and no recourse.

Having your wife use her inheritance (cash on hand) to make monthly interest payments is not a good idea. She would be better off getting a credit card, charging a few things you're going to buy anyways (even your car insurance) and paying it off each month. Yes, losing money on the big car purchase and returning it/selling it back at a loss is frustrating, but is much much better than paying the large monthly payment and almost 20K in interest.

KISS: You cannot afford the lifestyle you want. Period.

The truck is an anchor and it will slowly drown you. Add a travel trailer and you'll speed up the process.

In your initial post, you explained your situation and asked for advice. Several folks replied advising that your plan was ill conceived. You proceeded anyway. Things went awry and now you're seeking advice again. Several folks have suggested getting out of the transaction ASAP anyway you can. It will probably cost you (time, money, grief, credit) but it is still your best option at this point. Taking on debt service that exceeds your monthly income is a path to financial ruin.

Keep it up and you're on the path to needing to depend on family/friends to take care of you. Whatever infirmities you have at 37 will most assuredly get worse with age. If you want/need to be self reliant, you have to make better financial decisions going forward.

Even Bob Wells would acknowledge that nomads should have a backup plan that incorporates a home base. I suggest you use your capital to buy a house (or mobile home) on land. Buy something cheap, preferably something you can pay cash for. If you have to finance it, do it for the shortest time possible, like 5 years. Owning property gives you a place to go if/when your traveling comes to an end. Until then, you can rent it out for extra income if you don't want to use it now. In almost every state, you can buy property for less than the cost of your truck. Here's an example of what I'm talking about in one of the states you're interested in:
https://www.realtor.com/realestatea...003-16818?property_id=5300316818&from=map-pin
Another option is to buy vacant land. Put utilities on it if not already present. This requires being cognizant of local zoning regulations and code enforcement. This won't generate income, so make sure its cheap. You can even buy an RV and live in it parked there when you're not traveling.

KISS: Use your inheritance, savings, insurance payout to purchase something that will appreciate in value, like real estate. Keep your total (car, RV, house, everything) monthly loan payments < 60% of $1800.

I spoke to my dad's classmates son who's a salesman

He said call.gmc customer service and tell them this hs been a nightmare, you have been carless having to do lyft and you would just like to Return an refund

The lady said she will.working on writing a report

Chevy just called and said we are working to fix the fuel pump problem

I said I spoke to gmc custome service and want a refund And return

He said if you don't Pick up the vehicle it will be a repossession and mess up your credit.

Should I continue to push GMC customer service to deal with the dealerhip and NOT
pick up the vehicle ?

I've been staying at hotel rooms wearing the Same clothes.I mentioned ill swing bye as I need to get my clothes

My undeliverable crv is at my wife's apartment

I could sleep in there tonight

The keys to the crv are in the truck inside the dealership

Thank you and hope you are having blessed day

You need help, try a local shelter or church to help you get into counseling and housing. Best wishes and good luck.

I would highly recommend buying the trailer before buying the truck. It is much easier to match the truck to the trailer than it is to match the trailer to the truck in my opinion. Buying a few year old RV with factory recalls and defects already fixed by the previous owner is a good way to go in my opinion. A used 3/4 ton Suburban bought for $6,000 can be restored mechanically if needed for less than $20,000 in almost all cases. A good 6 or 7 year old trailer should be available for less than $30,000 but all this needs to be checked and inspected by a knowledgeable third party like a trained mechanic or RV repair person. I would look around at places where older people in RVs live and check bulletin boards. There are businesses that specialize in Suburbans you can look into as well. This process is hard work, there are few if any shortcuts and those can be way too expensive for most.

I looked into the Suburban and it seems that while there are deals on fb

Im looking at about 12 miles per gallon

As someone who drives around alot, vetting locations to do mold avoidance it would eat up alot of fuel

Appreciate any other deals that may work

Essentially the financial advisor at Edward jones mentioned if we can get rid of the 680/month [which is 35% of our 1880 month income]] truck at some point and can avoid truck loan payments

There will be enough to finance an RV

I know having 50k in savings isn't much but I don't think a homeless shelter is good with mold illness

Appreciate it Bullfrog

Davsey, he wasn’t suggesting you go into a shelter to live there, but that they could make a referral for you.

You need help, someone to help you with decision making in the short term and life planning in the long term.

You are wanting to discuss here the purchase of a different truck, also an RV, when you have not listened to previous suggestions and are now locked into an expensive truck loan no one here would have recommended and which you say you want to get out of.

You report living in hotels, which will eat up what savings you have.

You and your wife need to sit down with a professional whose expertise is in helping people with disabilities navigate life, then meet with them regularly to help you straighten out this current mess and prevent recurrence of similar problems in the future.

We cannot help you solve all of this here.

Davsey, In your post just above it says "There will be enough to finance an RV" You can't afford the truck payment, insurance, maintenance, fuel, food now let alone adding another payment. What are you thinking for goodness sake?

Yes,

I have consulted with a financial advisor at Edward jones in phoenix

Financial planners of spouses of mold ilness.

Consulting with Fb mold groups for locations

Looking here for more nuanced info on trucks/Rvs [As this area has its own knowledge base]

It seems that social services isn't adept at helping those with environmental illness so I have had to look elsewhere

🙏

Davsey, In your post just above it says "There will be enough to finance an RV" You can't afford the truck payment, insurance, maintenance, fuel, food now let alone adding another payment. What are you thinking for goodness sake?
Yes I understand no way of adding another truck payment

Let me clarity

I meant in the instance of getting out of the loan and getting down-payment refuned[Hypothetical long shot]

Either telling the bank intentions to default[meaning 20k of down-payment would be gone]

Or as a lyft driver who works with a mechanic Suggested As an option is to drive it for a year and then when some of the 50k loan is payed of till 40k owed then sell it to a private buyer or big dealership.I don't know if this means that selling it after a year would mean a net loss of negative 20000[downpayment and warranty]

He mentioned you may even profit 20k.Im ok with breaking even or taking a small loss with selling it after a year

Still attempting to work with GMC customer service to put pressure on Chevy with the claim number to return the vehicle.Possibly mentioning to them Ill report to the better business bureas

I spoke to a guy from my country yesterday and he suggested getting a weight of an RV and coming back to him and seeing what he can do

Ford assistant manager also called me today saying she may be able to do an appraisal

I'm thinking about seeing if an attorney will help us get a return and refunded down payment

🙏

You don’t need help purchasing another vehicle right now, Davsey, you need a different kind of help.

Social services won’t discern between one kind of disability and the next, and you have repeatedly reported here neurological issues affecting decision making.

You ask for help and advice here, and tho you are obviously highly intelligent then when you have not taken the advice you ask for you are back wanting help sorting out the mess you are now in.

Call your local mental health center, get an appointment and some appropriate help.

And with that, I am done.

Good luck, davsey.

I was once active in my company Credit Union where a lot of vehicle loans were made to young workers who need transportation to get back and forth to work. Seems this fellow wanted this Jeep pickup truck and bought it from a Used Car Lot that was known for it's crookedness. As with any of these loans insurance to cover the loan was built in and some percent of the price was required up front from the buyer. (thus the vehicle could stand for the loan settlement in the event of a default)

Long story short, the vehicle kept breaking down on the guy. He was out on a long holiday weekend and it broke down on the side of the road. He thumbed a ride to where he could call a friend to come get him. Next morning he went to tow the truck to a garage but the truck was gone. Seems a lot of vehicles are stolen by professional strip gangs who broker the parts to garages & body shops.

The guy called the Credit Union and the Manager wanted to talk with him and had him come into the office. It seemed that was the best thing that could have happened to him, Insurance paid off the loan and the problem sort of solved itself. The Manager requested that he let him help him with the next purchase. The Credit Union had plenty of vehicles that were near to be defaulted on because of divorces etc where the loan could be assumed and the buyer still get a decent vehicle and help another CU member.

As everyone else has said, you cannot afford this truck no matter what you may have been told/sold. You need to return it even if you lose your $20,000 down payment. You will still be better off with a less expensive vehicle.

You mentioned that your Honda was in an accident and that brings up another point with your current vehicle (which you should return at any cost):
Do you have gap insurance on this vehicle? Gap insurance covers the difference between what you owe and what the insurance values your car at should you get in an accident that totals the car.

For example you said you have a loan for ~$38,000 dollars. If you were to get in an accident today, your insurance company might say: "the car is totalled, we will give you $20,000 because that is what we say it is currently valued at" You will be on the hook for the remaining $18,000 owed to the loan company.
You will end up with a loan on a car you do not have.

You should return the car, but if you make a future purchase please keep the above in mind.

And for the next car you should obviously be more careful and get professional advice before purchasing. You should put more money down:

In your current example, if you had put an additional $20,000 down, since you had the money, your payment would have been cut in half to $321/month, you would have paid ~$5,000 less in interest over the life of the loan, and your wife could still build her credit that she wants with the smaller monthly payment.

Yes,

The 2020 silverado trail boss that we just purchased has gap insurance

Doing the math the loan is about 50k for 65 months at about 680/month.Interest is 8.9%

They said they bidded for lenders just before we signed and lowest was 13%.I told them I have a long standing good relationship with Chase Bank.

The finance guy at chevy then went next door and spoke to a colleuge who knows about chase came back and said you are approved at 8.9% through chase

Is there any recourse going through my bank to get refunded the down payment?

Here is what I have done today
-Contacted Gm customer service about wanting to return.GMX said they left voicemal to chevy dealer management and haven't heard back

I sent an email to a senior advisor who has a case number for me that this vehicle has caused emotional an financial hardship and I would just like a return and refund

-Filed an online report with the better business bureau in AZ mentioning what I mentioned to GMC customer service

-Ford dealership reached out too me asking me how much I paid for it and maybe doing an appraisal to buy it out[seems this option my still involve debt ]

-Contacted some attorneys to see if they would take the case

I see that unless this is dealt with yes don't even look at other vehicles for purchase[sometimes I have cognitive issus and takes me awhile to process information on what's going on]

Nonetheless,I have attempted to take some action and spend today being more proactive

I guess until I hear a decision from the entities regarding the truck there is a degree of waiting

Appreciate any suggestions on other measures that can be taken in the meantime

What I found out
-Although salesman told me I would get rental car before signing,I went to chevy yesterday and they told me there not contracted with any insurance

-The car has been at the maintenance shop. They said the stop/start problem I experienced at the gas stations was due to the Fuel tank Filler pipe and will receive parts on Monday and will be covered with the extended warranty

Looking to minimize damage at this point

Thank you
