I have this 3-gal marine tank for a truck camper build and am currently fixing to put a few bulkheads in the adjacent side because I cannot use the side with the current ports. So I got those almost plugged, then I will grind off the part of the plugs that protrude and install a screw hatch in the top.

My one question would be whether I should use brass or plastic bulkheads, one fore the fill port, one for the vent and another for supply. Is there a good reason to avoid brass, or is it actually the better option. Though all my other fittings and the tank will be plastic, so brass may not offer any benefit?

I'm no expert but do have a thought on this. Brass will limit what type of chemical can be used when cleaning. I'm thinking bleach, used for killing mold type microbes in water containers will have a bad reaction to brass fittings. There are other chemicals that may not have a reaction with brass but why bother, just use plastic.
