I have been looking for hours trying to find the width of the interior of a Chevy Express 3/4 ton. I can find width between wheel wells everywhere. But not the width between walls.

Trying to determine about how much bed space I can fit at the widest part of the interior.

Anyone know this distance?

72 inches over the wheel wells. Rib to rib.

And it narrows toward the top and back, where it's about 51 inches.

Thank you. I have been hunting for that width for way to long. :)

Well my wife is only 5' 8" but the way she sleeps I may need to cut off her feet. :) Trying really hard to find a way to sleep us width wise.

Well your down to diagonally, a hammock or a slide out for your feet and yes it has been done.

A small slide out does sound like a possibility. I'll have to research making one. If anyone know of some articles on that, please post the links.

The one I saw used a cargo door with a water tight seal hinged at the top with a water proof hinge. When opened it made a slanted roof for a water tight box that was mounted on heavy duty drawer slides about 24” deep. It was sealed with weather stripping on the inside wall as well as against the inside of van metal side. The box being several inches smaller than the cargo door made everything completely sealed by the door when closed. The box was basically a place for your shins and feet.
