I guess I need to research more, I was thinking the dometic numbers were good, and that the amp draw was quite low.

Dometic (Waeco) is a huge global corporation, and makes all kinds of fridge / freezer equipment.

They are also OEM for many other brands, sometimes exactly the same units just a different sticker and wildly different price.

Some are very efficient (12V compressor type), and in the RV biz they've also sold a lot of the old three-way absorption style, including a propane option, where the 12V side is meant for while driving only.

Like US truck fridges, since unlike other developed countries, in many states they're still allowed to idle while stationary, no need to spend extra making them efficient.

So, when discussing fridges, best to use the specific model number to clarify.

Note those EPA consumption numbers are average overall under spec temp conditions, not the much higher "while compressor running" current draw.

Morning John...
Please share with us what refrigeration do you use in your RV, which you may find good, poor, or really, really bad?

:)

Shrug... I was just going by the data they gave for kwh per year for the cfx models. Guess it's higher in real life use?

I was specifically thinking of the cfx 40us model from dometic.
