Since when is starting your own thread (especially in "INTRODUCTIONS") and replying specifically to "one person", and in a manner in which he chooses to reply not within reason?

Sometimes I find it hard to swallow the hypocrisy of those who claim they are tortured by Christianity.

The simple "FACT"... if you care to read the start of this thread, again..... Bob's RV, did start off by mentioning where and what he was doing, in regards to what this forum is about.... however, he also included the following;

My desert hermit site will explain in further detail what I am doing all of this for.

This was my reason for the reply I made to him on this forum, and I appreciate his reply to me on this forum! Two real men with common interests.

Stop with the Anti-Christian BS.... If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. Or maybe you where never taught this simple courtesy.

I'm proud to be American, and I thank God for the freedom we all have in this country. I'm proud to have been raised by a Godly mother, who taught me right from wrong, and how to treat other as I would want to be treated. I'm proud to be a military veteran, who served during war. I'm proud to be in a profession where I care for people, even for those who are of other ethnicity and/or other religious beliefs - I will still try to save your life if the need is ever there. But most of all I am proud to be a Christian.

I try, but fail sometimes, to live by the saying, live and let live.... but I would never go out of my way to purposely bash someone for what they believe in, or even what they choose not to believe.

I realize that there are certain rules and stipulations that apply to be a member of this forum. And I understand that certain things are not to be, or better not discussed. Yet, to attack anyone for making replies that are specific to the one person the reply is made, just because you tend to loath Christianity in particular.... It's rude and uncalled for......

I am ashamed of the negative replies made to Bob's RV (a NEW MEMBER).. and I will be man enough to apologize to him for these replies.

If Christian bashing, or 'any' purposeful religious bashing is what this forum is about, and if the owner of this forum (Bob) agrees with your childish, school yard reactions to Bob sharing with me and others (who didn't seem to take offense), I'll gladly leave this forum to you that demand certain words and beliefs to be censored.

Cowboy-Up, Gentlemen! You're acting like whining little girls.

The stuff that goes down when you are at the hospital. PLEASE no more, until I get outta here. Once everyone has their say, it'll be a flame war. PLEASE hold off on further comments for now. I just can't think right now.

Straight up to " Ziggy Moon"............

So let me get this straight , you don't wish for Christian rhetoric to be censored , yet you'd pressure those who would rather not listen to it?

Rather seems like hypocrisy to me , and last I looked the Book warns against the evils of hypocrisy. I happen to agree with " Bob " as regards the fragmenting of the Body of Christ ( believers in toto) into a wide variety of denominations and outright cults.

That said , the basic reason I am no longer " Christian" is found in the behavior of socalled " Christians" who utterly fail to " walk it like they talk it" and quite frequently exhibit the same sort of bigotry and exclusionary rhetoric that you just did.

The literal translation of your words being summed up as " if ya ain't a Christian then you're crap and we should be able to say what we damn please but you can't because you're not a Christian."...

And " Bob's " comment about " well if I was talking about getting drunk" was not only highly judgemental ( something else warned against within The Book) it was assumptive in nature and in the end came across as rather snotty.

If this forum is going to be a vehicle for proselytising to the " unwashed " then let us all know , a bunch of us will leave.

And fair warning , you really don't want to open this can of worms with *me* , I've been through the mill with Christianity , carry advanced degrees in both religious studies and theology , I know The Book ( and the Quoran and Talmud) forward and back.....and if I can run Joyce Meyer off the stage in open debate at TCU in front of a full panel then you're gonna be way , way out of your depth.

Pertinent verses for you...............

" Judge not , lest ye be judged."

" Remove the log from thine own eye brother , prior to worrying about the mote in anothers"

The OP gracefully conceded that he had hijacked his own post and promised to confine his spiritual comments to his blog. What more must he do to avoid the diatribe?

hey ziggy moon, why didn't you ask these questions on his website? or in off topic. anytime you talk religion an politic your ask for difference of opinions. fellow traveler gary p.s. i don't want here about your god!!

STOP NOW.

As the owner of this forum, I owe Bob, the OP, an apology. Bob, I am in a bit of a situation right now. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Everyone else please respect my request and cease commenting for now.

Just need to add a sprinkling of politics, gun control, and maybe some sexual abstinence before marriage, then this thread will be COMPLETE! EDIT: Sorry, added this post before I saw the last one.

@ Anon E, Mouse - Point well taken, and I respect your views and beliefs.

@ railroadgreen - I understand, and I did contact him via his website (just after). And I respect your views and beliefs also.

Come on people, take a deep breath and exhale. If nothing else we have learned why battles have transpired in the past between Christians and non. If it is peace you seek, it is peace you will find. If it be war you desire shall it not be war you find.

I was confronted for my comments and I believe I did what was needed to prevent an all out war, but even after the moderator prayed for a cease fire the battle raged.

As long as we are in this world we are going to have to face disagreements, but we must all answer for how we handle these situations. The Word of God tells me that if you enter a city as a Christian and they do not receive your message, shake the dust off your feet and move on to the next city. This reflects on the situation at hand; there are many here who refuse my message, so in light of the mentioned passage I followed suit by letting them know that to keep peace I would move any future issues as this to my blog.

This does not mean that I lost and they won, it does not mean that they won and I lost, it simply means that when it is in our power to sew peace we must do so.

I would say to everyone involved, quit ye like men, be humble and move forward.

Anon E, Mouse,

The statement I made was not made in a judgmental attitude, it is a simple statement of fact. Freedom of speech in America has taken on the meaning that as long as you agree with me you can speak, otherwise your speech is considered a hate crime.

Only a blind fool does not see this war that is going on, the Christian is only permitted to speak if what they say does not go against the grain of modern society. What I said was not said in a judgmental attitude, it is just a solid fact of the situation on the ground.

If we are not to speak the truth because of someones opinion that it is judging, when if ever can the Christian speak truth?

I want to make a few observations for now. Apparently Bob has quit the forum. He still can read the response if he so chooses, anyone can read the forum whether they are a member or not.

I own this forum, and have a few rules that keeps it as civil as possible for the most people as possible. I really want people to stay, but if you don't like it here I understand. We cannot be everything to all people. What I want to be most of all is a safe place to land for anyone who needs us. Sometimes that means we avoid discussions that are more devisive than promoting of our lifestyle.....

We don't discuss religion or politics.

This will be clearly listed on the new forum. It is discussed in several places on this forum but my apologies to Bob the OP that he may not have had an opportunity to see this in the 20 some hours he was a member. We don't often transition so quickly to "preaching", and we certainly did in this case. Made my head spin.

No matter what, Bob was new here and some of the remarks were not very considerate and he as well as anyone deserved the "be kind" rule that is the #1 rule in dealing with everything else. Following the be kind rule would likely have prevented the escalation that followed. it even made Casey nervous. There are many ways to approach a situation, some better might have been chosen here, but I don't always get it right, either......

Post #14 reminds me of a cartoon I saw somewhere that showed a stereotypical, bearded hermit sitting on the stoop of his cabin and whittling. Standing in front of him was a gorgeous young lady in hiking gear and the old guy's dialogue balloon said:

"Yes, I moved way out here and have been a hermit in these woods for over 30 years. Why do you ask young fella?"

Boondocking in the desert is like staring yourself in the face. It's just you and a bunch or rocks and scrub, At night the magic of the sky makes me dizzy sooo many stars soo quiet. I could stop eating. If you really want to know who you are and ask those difficult questions there is no better place on earth. Amen
