Nice!  Planning on staying a bit, or just rolling through?

I'll be in Wisconsin for a couple weeks, fishing.  Here in Green Bay, just a couple days.

Parked for the next 3 days at the casino in Green Bay Wi.  Spent the day looking for spots on the Fox River to fish, doing laundry, getting my Wisconsin fishing license and avoiding Cabelas.  Life is good.

The only place I know less about what I'm looking at than in a computer store, is the fishing section. I like the colors and shapes of things, but know zero about them... last time I fished was using a string and safety pin with american cheese for bait. LOL

All those pretty lures actually catch more fishermen than fish LOL!!!  I actually caught many on string, safety pins and cheese as a wee lad.  Have a great day

Yup, we caught lots of little (4"-6") bluegills that way.  Fun times!

Have fun out there today, fishing for real!!

Even managed a few fish.  I'm an avid carp angler for the last 53 years..they captured me at 10 years old with their size and fight.  In fact, tomorrow I head to Madison Wi. where I caught my very first one at 10 years old.  The one pictured here went just over 18 lbs.

Fishing for carp on Pittsburgh's rivers was a great pastime... we'd either make our own dough or hit a bakery for throwaway bread by the garbage bag. People scoff at carp fishing, but they've never landed a 30# buffalo either :)

I've fished the Monongwahela (sp) and always wanted to fish Tri-Rivers Park.  Maybe one day :)

Well, it's moving day, heading towards Madison Wi.  Did some house cleaning and was left with one chore to do prior to departing Green Bay.  Get some grass from Lambeau Field for my brother Terry and nephew Shawn.  Job done.  Life is good.

This bridge in Westport Wi., 3 mile bike ride from home, is where, at the age of 10 (1963), myself and the carp were first introduced.  I was sitting on the end of it, as shown in the picture, casting a pinky jig for white bass and doing rather well.  The rod and reel I was using was a little Zebco 77.

Strike 1 resulted in a startled kid shouting "WHAT WAS THAT?" , a broken line, and a lost pinky jig.  An older boy said, "carp" as he pointed towards some swirling on the water surface where these humongous fish with round mouths were mouthing the surface.  I was intrigued, to say the least, and walked up to bait shop (no longer there), got another pinky jig, and respooled my reel with some 50 lb test black line...now I'm set.

Strike 2 resulted in a little bit longer of a tussle but with the same result.  No fish, no pinky jig and a SNAPPED rod.  Thus began my introduction to this powerful fish and a full fledged pursuit to land one of these beasts with the orangish round mouths.  What an adventure it was and has been.

Caught my very first carp at this exact location, 53 years ago, and hope to replicate the event starting tomorrow.

Have a wonderful time and fond memories; who says you can't go back . . .

Down in the 30's last night, love my Mr Buddy.  May be installing a Webasto heater under the passenger seat in the spring.  Kind of pricey but no moisture and hooks right to your fuel tank.

Want to follow your travels. About a year or more out now, still time to get all prepped.

Always great to have company, all the best in your prep.

No pictures today, rainy and dreary all day. With 30* in the forecast the girls and I headed 200 miles south into Illinois. Met up with a friend, bought a 3 day fishing license and going to try out one of his spots. Life is good.
