YouTube has just exploded with channels where people say absolutely nothing. "Hey guys, I'm leaving X campsite." Then show video of a van driving on a dirt road. Who cares? Leave already.
I've narrowed my watching down to a few who provide quality content. I watched one person give instructions on how to make a weed sprayer shower. I went out that afternoon and built mine.
Here's what I would like to see more of from YouTube nomads:
The basics: how to's such as what size propane tank should I get? How do I build a portable shower? How can I rig up a standard tarp for extra shade, or privacy showering? How do I get unstuck if I get in deep sand? Directions to places such as the RTR, that's helpful.
Gear reviews: Is there something new on the market that can add real value to the nomad experience? Electronics, auto/rv, or general camping equipment.
Food/cooking: How can I eat healthy on the road? How much and what kinds of food to onboard when I'm stopped at the only Walmart for the next 200 miles?
Hobbies: Interview people with different hobbies. How can I enjoy astronomy on the road? How can I get started prospecting for gems/gold? Birding basics, wildflower identification. The interviews with another person give a more personable viewing experience.
Here's a good subject, Leave-No-Trace ethics, and being a steward instead of a slob on public lands. Some people nowdays don't know these things.
And every time the subject of mail and driver's license comes up, advocacy. How can nomads start advocating for themselves. Is it time to take that next step?
Just some thoughts for an early Sunday morning.
