Beware White Vans

Just a little tidbit I saw in the news and thought I would post it here for folks to be aware of.

"Instead they have instructed members to be on the lookout for white Mercedes vans with California license plates. They claim those vehicles have been used to transport organized rioters."

Given the hordes of ignorants that roam about I doubt that they would care if it is a Mercedes or a Chevy If it is a white van or a blue van. Or whether the plates say Cali or Texas.

How many organized rioters can possibly fit into a sprinter??.... 6??!! A whole fleet would be needed to make a difference.

Please be safe and stay aware that vans are now being profiled as potential rioters.

This alert was very given to the local law enforcement in that area.
While it is an interesting news alert there is no need to turn it into an police assault against everyone in a white van.

Do you own a white Mercedes van? 

Are you currently in Lewiston Idaho area?

Do you have California plates on your van?

Are you transporting people to participate in protest?

Thats the big problem I see. It is being spread among "vigilante" groups not just law enforcement. Those are the ones I would be most concerned about.
We already know that vanlifers don't fit the "norm". How many people from..say Seattle with man buns just camping and traveling in their van are going to be viewed as "trouble" by the good ol boys?
To some eyes those folks "appear" to be trouble just by default. Put them in any van during these times and there could be an issue for them. A serious issue possibly.

Yes. I am right here.. with a white van.. it is not a Mercedes but I doubt Bubba and his buddies even know what a Mercedes is. Doubtful they care. This isn't going to be isolated to this part of  the country. I completely agree with people to have a right to defend themselves with a gun. I don't agree that anyone should be allowed to enforce laws that they don't understand.  Aren't there enough Karens  already?

It isn't Law enforcement that I am concerned about. This suspicion is being spread among "vigilante" groups. Those folks are the problem in this particular instance.

LOL ever been to Benewah County Idaho??... Trust me, the hills have eyes in these parts and they are highly suspicious of any outsiders.

Not one to tempt fate...but what do you think would happen to my van if I parked it near the protests with a  "peace" or a Hillary or Bernie bumper sticker on it.

Put a cam on it. There is no doubt it would be vandalized. Conveniently set up in flames... LOL.. Could be an  easy way to remedy my bed situation.. I better up the insurance tonight!

But in general, you should try to avoid using derogatory names for groups of people.

I think that was the sentiment you had when some forum members used the term 'hippies'.

To your credit, you didn't use 'rednecks' but I believe you easily could have.

I think some forum members are retired law enforcement people.

I know there's an internet rumor about Idaho people not liking Californians, but I lived there for six years and never met anyone who complained about Californians. When I was sleeping at the local Walmart and Cabelas there were people with CA plates and they were not in any way harassed or treated differently.

I'm not going back until the riots are ended and CV19 is no longer a headline.

Always leery of any vehicle with Cali plates.

Mercedes passenger van, with no visible plates at all, pulls up to the Amargosa Fort, and the occupants pile out. All occupants were military age males from overseas somewhere. Maybe a college soccer team.

It is not acceptable to take a very common woman's name Karen and use it as another term for bigotry. There are very likely a million or more women in this country with the name of Karen and I am one of them. I was doing black lives matter public protesting in the 1960s. I expect better behavior of you than that. I am sure you would not like your own name to become a derogatory term for behavior you have yourself never been associated with.
