Best battery for full-time boondocking: LiFePO4

If you're considering AGM's, I'm pretty happy with the Sun Xtender 224 ah series. As they're AGM's they're a bit pricey, but will last a long time.
 
well, what I do know is that the lithium batteries they use in power tools have a high failure rate. everybody I know who has these, have had battery failures. highdesertranger
 
The Lithium-ion batteries used in power tools and laptops are not LiFePO4. If it said "lithium" but not "LiFePO4", lithium-ferric-phosphate, lithium-iorn-phosfate, or LFP it is almost certainly not LiFePO4. The other Lithium chemestries have higer engergy density, but much shorter life. (Plus have problems with starting fires under some conditions.)
