I don't know where you are but there are places in Canada that carry the Inergy Kodiak. They are pricey but they get excellent reviews. PoCo Marine in Port Coquitlam has them if you're in the Vancouver area.

I guess you could plan on a vacation in the USA and have it delivered to a Port Angeles, WA location. Or better yet have it sent to Oregon, no sales tax in Oregon. No tarif, free shipping, that almost offsets the cost of the vacation trip. Install it in your rig there before you head back home.

Since they offer 'free' shipping in the mainland 48 states, you might arrange to have them shipped to a USA facility or residence of your choosing near the border, drive over, install them, and then return, as Maki2 suggested.

If you are way up in the Great White North, you might look into international shipping, they do offer that, but I am guessing it will be expensive.

There are some Lithium vehicle batteries being made in Canada. Buying batteries made in Canada might be something to look for. BattleBorn are made in the USA.

I don't know if there are tariffs on importing that kind of battery into Canada, that is something you need to check on. A tariff would increase the cost of buying batteries made in other countries.

I was actually just watching some vids on Tesla batterys in RVs. Only $1600 (CAD) here. Easier to buy 2 of these than attempting to get battle borns.

The Tesla battery pack is 24 volts. This means that to use one of these you need to down convert to 12 volts to feed the 12 volts needed for your RV. The biggest problem will be charging. If you want to charge from the alternator, you will need to up convert to 24 volts. Charging from solar is a simple case of using an MPPT controller fed from solar panels connected  for 24 volts or more and outputting 24 volts to the battery pack. Converter/chargers and inverters are available for 24 volt.

Yup, and thanks. I was going to go 24v anyways. Not many 12v things i need to run. Prob just water pump and basic lights. Fridge will be 24v and everything else i can think of would probably be AC.

the important difference from the battle born and the tesla modules is that the battle born come with basic battery management controls and are sold as "drop in" with a long warranty. the tesla modules are basically bare and you need to cobble together your own controls and monitoring systems.

the battle born batteries are also as far as i can tell lifepo4 and are extremely safe, no issues with thermal runaway and burning down your rig. where as the tesla modules are lithium ion 18650 type cells and if not managed properly not only can you kill them quickly they can catch fire and burn like the devil
