Bought this little jump starter about three months ago because I always seem to need to jump something whether it's the ATV, lawn tractor or a stranger's car in a parking lot. It's a lot easier than dragging the cables out and re-positioning the truck.  It jumps all the little batteries no problem at all,as I expected it would.  Today the neighbor walked over and asked if I could give him a jump, I said sure be right down......walked over with this and he looked at me like I was crazy.  Hooked it up to his F350 Diesel and she turned right over!, needless to say I was impressed.  Even though it has great reviews, I was even skeptical buying it and trying it on that truck today.

I had been wanting a portable jump pack for awhile, but just never picked one up for whatever reason.  Then saw the size of this and the good reviews and decided why not, can stash it under the truck seat and not even know it's there until I need it.  Come's with a great little carrying case, car charger, 110 charger, usb port for charging cell phones and laptops, really impressed with it. It's about the size of two packs of cigarettes.

It really is an impressive little thing. I have a nice set of extra long jumper cables....but I have them rolled up very neatly in a nylon storage pouch buried under everything under my rear truck seats. And it never fails, if someone needs a jump I have the backseat full of stuff so I have to move all of it, lift the seats, dig them out and proceed. Then it takes me three weeks to wrap them back up and store them again. Now, if someone really needs a jump I'll happily do it but now with this it's become much much easier and the looks on everyone's faces is priceless! Almost worth it for that reason alone.

I never even thought about potential damage to my truck jumping someone, but with the way everything is computerized on these things, I guess it wouldn't take much to wipe something electronic out and then become stranded myself.

Plus I like the idea of being able to help myself if ever needed. I try to be prepared for just about anything so my truck has most anything I could need to get out of a jamb. Except a winch. But I do carry a come-a-long and a few straps.

I am looking into getting one of these. How did you decide on this one as there are so many to choose from? And also, are these safe to leave in vans that we live/sleep in? Thanks so much.

This one listed it could jump larger engines than the others I looked at so I went with it, plus it had all good reviews. But I think you'd do well with any of them. As far as I know it's safe to sleep in a van with one, don't see why it wouldn't be. It's an all sealed battery so I don't see off gassing to be an issue. But you could contact the manufacturer if you wanted to be 100% sure.
